First of all, we have to make sure we have the webcam add-on for MATLAB...

Pretty sure the webcam module is included in the base program. I try to warn people when that is an issue.

@@CodingLikeMad In 2017a and prior version it is not. I saw your video and immediately tried to do it on my 2017a. It gave me a warning saying 'MATLAB Support Package for USB Webcams' has not been installed. It could be downloaded from the file exchange it seems. In 2018a and later versions, it might have been included with the standard package, but alas I don't have money to upgrade to the new versions.

Can you confirm if that package is a toolbox you need to pay for, or just an extension module required? I've never explicitly bought that module to my knowledge, but it may have been included in one of the ones I did buy.

@@CodingLikeMad For 2017a I have almost all the toolboxes, including the image processing one, but I don't have this webcam package. I suspect that it is distributed as part of the image processing toolbox after the initial release.

Ah. I do have that toolbox I think. It is frustrating that some features require a maintenance contract to be active to get, even though you can keep the toolbox after that. I've been stung by that several times now.
