I am continuing my introduction to greenwood work by showing how you can use natural wood shrinkage to make very tight joints, in this case to make the arm and leg joints for the Dutch Dolls that I am making from greenwood, (wood that is still wet, having been cut from a tree very recently).

This series is wonderful! Exactly what I was looking for. I love these dolls and have been admiring them for years. I would love to own one, but could never afford one. So I want to make my own. I am very crafty and learned woodwirking in school. The only thing holding me back is my health. I have been bedridden for years and have been unable to go about my greatest love in life (crafting) for 10 years now. (It breaks my heart) All I can do at the moment is research, collect information and materials and continue hoping and praying that I may soon get to craft some of the projects I have been dreaming up and preparing for over the years😂 Anyways, what I wanted to ask is if you still have those measurements you made of the dolls. Since I have never had the pleasure to handle one I would have to crudely guess at the measurements. I would be extremely thankful if you would be so kind as to send me the measurements. I would so love to be able to hold one of these glorious dolls before I die. ❤ Imagine how much fun it must be to sew for them! I guess that would be something I might be able to do by hand in bed. But to get to that I will have to get better first anyways.🤯 oh well, never give up hope!😊

I thought at first you were making a Pinocchio doll. Your dolls are coming a long nicely. You are a man of many talents.

Thanks for the handy joint information concerning wood dolls. The doll noses look the same as the "old timer" woodworkers made, although you have whittled a much better longer waistline on your dolls. Thanks for using your super duper talents to make reproduction Grodnertal dolls.

Thanks very much Raine...the clothes will be a challenge for me, I have got some remnants, including a silk curtain, so fingers crossed they will look a quarter as good as your lovely dolls.
