Because that’s how abusers work! They make their victims think everything is their fault! The amount of times I apologized to my Ex-Husband who abused me in every single way you can think of for over 20 years, was ridiculous! multiple times a day, everyday I was saying sorry for one thing or another. I hadn’t got the washing dry on time, dinner was a few minutes late, I made a small noise while he was watching something. Anything and everything I was made to apologize for after getting hit or a beating, even apologizing for him sexually abusing and assaulting me, as well as everytime he attacked me! That’s what they do to their victims and that’s how they make them feel! Kiss knew exactly when he had John-Paul under his complete control when John-Paul apologized to him for thinking it was Kiss in the bodybag!?! They slowly chip away at your self confidence until there’s nothing left but an empty shell.

It’s appalling because we all know this is happening in reality - abusive and toxic relationships. People like this need to be single for the rest of their lives. But honestly, I really don’t understand how anyone can be so blind about behaviors like this and instead, succumb to everything they want/say. Like listen to what he’s saying...those are hints of a possessive narcissistic abuser: JP talks about how George is so amazing and that he’ll tell him everyday about it and all George says is “I wouldn’t settle for less”. That line just made it so obvious how self-absorbed a person can be. I’ve had friends stuck in abusive relationships and I never will understand why people stay like that.
