USMC Drill Instructors Meet New Recruits • Initial Speech

New U.S. Marine Corps recruits meet their drill instructors, who give an introductory speech, and will be responsible for transforming them into Marines at Marine Corps Recruit Depot Parris Island. Although the recruits were under the supervision of other drill instructors since their arrival on Parris Island several days earlier, these are the drill instructors who will be with them every moment for the next 12 weeks. Filmed on July 1, 2017.

Respect the rights and properties to all others. A marine never steals. You must work hard to strengthen your body. Be proud of yourself and the uniform you wear. Try your best to learn the things you’ll be taught. ABOVE ALL ELSE. NEVER QUIT OR GIVE UP.

A lot of what the military teaches should be mandatory curriculum in grade school for every American. Much of what the military teaches isn't so much about being a soldier or being prepared at a moments notice to go into war, but general attributes of being a respectful and respected human being. Basic essentials of life. If everyone were taught much of what they teach in basic training during grade school I would submit we would cut down on violence and crime in America because people would grow up with pride in themselves. And it doesn't matter if its in the poorest inner city school or the richest private school, everyone should go through some basic training in grade school. Maybe jr high.

probably cause your male. the females however might be even more inspired from the female DI. personally i have respect for every marine coming from a military background myself. Ps. i think shes a perfect role model for younger women.

you dont get it buddy. most have done something illegal before turning up to marine corp. its what you do from then on will be taken account for. once the uniform is on, its a different story. serve one day and you might know

Good question given short hair is seen as crucial for fully effective respirator (gas mask!) use. Relates to achieving effective seal around the head, able to fit the mask quickly and to be able to fully block gas. So us men are told. From the UK.

abc64pan First of all it's not a club....... that's the problem everyone thinks this is some kind of all inclusive boys and girls club the corps is running. Secondly it's not about being macho, it's about being combat effective. Yeah, combat effectiveness something you have no clue about and something the Marine Corps will lose with the girls being put in specialties they do not belong in and are being put there just for the sake of including everybody.
