MACV SOG ~ Interviews with warriors

MACV SOG ~ Interviews with warriors

5 ай бұрын

"Doc" Spends just over an hour to talk about writing his book "one tough marine" the inspirational story of Staff Sergeant Donald N. Hamblen a USMC force marine soldier who lost his leg in a terrible accident. Not wanting to give up his passion of being a marine Hamblen would push himself to new limits and finally find himself in Vietnam serving with MACV SOG in its naval division NAD. Training both South and North Vietnamese (defectors) in naval commando operations some up North and even in China. Arriving by Nasty class patrol boats or swift boats the missions began to start. Then we move into what it was like for "Doc" in his role as a combat medic. Moments of PUCKER FACTOR events are recalled and a Tiger attack leads to a grizzly find and a loss of fellow force marine soldier. Finally 'Doc' talks about his newest book and a play he is involved with.
