Due to the current situation I am packed ready to go. I even bought a 800lb capacity gorilla cart in case I have to walk that way I don't have to carry everything on my back. There are no mountains and valleys around it's just Flatland. Thanks for the tip about the boots. I just switched my hiking boots to some Bates boots with higher up support. Going to have to figure out how to make them very waterproof that's my next video to look at

@James-----Sealskinz socks are a great waterproof option for boots. You can wear them as back up slippers around camp. Keeps water out unless you get water over top edge, then you wet for a bit

make damn sure you take a week to break in your pack boots. If you dont, you risk damaging your feet and or legs.

Thanks for putting out this video. I'm not your ordinary viewer, I'm a senior and I'm getting my bug out Bag together just in case....as well as bags for my family, who are in denial....anyway, just really appreciated your statement on the AquaQuest Tarp at the end as I have been trying to lighten my bag, but feel concerned about the super need for proper shelter so I don't get sick and your statement convinced me to stick to the AquaQuest Defender 10' x 10'. I know how to put up various shelters (I practice in the park during the weekdays). Thanks again and thank you for your service to our country!

The battery will deplete over time whether it's in the radio or not. But, it is smart to not leave the battery in it during storage, in case it explodes or leaks, it won't wreck your radio. I would keep it in a separate thick ziplok bag, to protect the radio.

I love your long-term inch bag videos. You should look into Samuel Thayer's Eastern and central field guide of wild edibles plants. I like it cuz its all in one how to identify, pick, harvest wity both trees and plants. One thing that makes this book stand out from the rest is the specific calendar he adds when a plants is peek or low peek season to harvest. Only thing i wish he did was addd more trees the book. Down size it weights alot i think 3 pounds but to me its worth the weight. Problem i see alot of these books is they show u one pic and write a description of plant and what its used for. Its definitely the ultimate bug out wild edibles book

A slick stuff sack in that cook kit pouch will solve the problem with getting the nesting cup in and out (*Edit. Not your cook kit, but the Maxpedition water pouch with the stainless Nalgene and nesting cup at the bottom). Ran into that problem with the Condor H20 and my cook pot/cup. Stuff sack yanks the whole kit out, much smoother than without it. Especially if you have a folding handle on your pot and all that.

Very comprehensive. Two things I ask you to consider An actual gill net without the weights And a book by Paul Tarwell, camping and wilderness survival, it's covers all the other books have plus more.

This has gotta be the best & complete rig but much too heavy for us rookies but getting some excellent ideas from it. We use yoga mat aka rubber bitch (that's a new one) for resting, sleeping etc. We have items for hot weather, cold season & rainy month, ideas we got from your vids. Really like your food aquire kit, all in one container. Cheers for sharing & thank you for your service. Appreciation from Australia.

I live on a farm but what if a motorcycle gang rolls in and takes it? I plan to go to the back side of the farm and camp out, assu ing I can flee before they take the place. I have my stuff in three big bags and plan on going back for the extra bags, although my main bag is quite similar to your bag. I got my survival radio, AA & AAA batteries and solar battery charger from C. Crane Company. Excellent video.

Thanks for the vid./ Dont like the "Wise" or pre-made junk. Get a can of freeze dried mixed veg.{much cheaper!} and make some jerky{london broil} then use a vacuum seal{dont have to but keep in frig.} also vac. seal some rice, pasta and oatmeal{pre-favored if u like}. Bring some chicken and beef bouillon. Some instant coffee packs weigh nothing and take very little room. for emer. might want to have a "S.O.S. calorie bar./ Mini solar panel, just a 6or8 inch.for radio, phone.

I think bailing out is good in theory but horrible in practice. You have to think about family. Do all of the family actually has a bail out bag? Are they knowledgeable and trained in using it? Are they competent in their shores and what they have to do? Where are you going? Do you actually have a place to go? How long is that traveling going to be? And then what's next? I used to have a bail out bag and then notices that I had nowhere to go. All of my resources are in the house. It's easier to have defense in a house and easier to have neighbors and a neighborhood then being alone. Not to say that some people do not have that option especially in natural disaster zones but that is another story.

Well thought out and organized kit. Question for you. Why did you choose the Steel Eagle 107 instead of the tanto version of the same knife? Was it just preference or is there a functional difference between the two?. Thank You in advance!!

I would add face bug net and and feet powder.I like your approach seems same with mine,no electronic devices, "etool" ,winter sleeping bag although is summer etc. Please make a video with an INCH bag scenario as much possible for all seasons.Combination of your winter and summer BOB. What it will be your sleeping system? Keep hammock and few tarps or Stay with the tent? What about clothes? Winter items will be extra weight most of the months..

So I have an older ILBE the woodland version and also the newer desert coyote assault pack that comes with the newer filbe so here’s the dilemma I’m having I can’t decide which one to use as a bug out bag I get the benefit of the ILBE since I can obviously carry more but should I not go out for example and say buy a tent for both the ILBE and assault pack or should I just use a tarp in the assault pack and keep a winter or seasonal tent in the ILBE I was in the marines from 2011 to 2015 btw cool that you do these kinds of videos I’m just overwhelmed with all the options and set up’s out there
