USN Mark 3 Mod 0 Knife and SOG SEAL Pup

Every second guy in my unit had a SOG seal pup hanging off their webbing when I was in. I never appreciated them until now

I have the one you saw in the video, which is still pretty, and another that has been to the sandbox, and I have given them to my troops as rewards. They are very good knives and I recommend them. They fit that space where you need a utility knife all the time but don't want to carry an extra pocket knife and being a good sized combat knife in the rare case you may need it. It is not very heavy and it is not very expensive. I sound like a SOG SEAL Pup evangelist, LOL!

I got the the first version of the Mod 3 when it came out in 1984, didn’t use it much because of the weakness of the blade tip. I have the classic Mark 2 by Camillus that it replaced, excellent knife, I’ve also got the USN K BAR Mark 2 also. In my opinion a much better knife, all they needed to do to upgrade was change handle and sheath material but keep the same design. I’m getting a SOG PUP very soon, always wanted one.

I agree Alan. I think the Mark 3 was an unnecessary addition. The current MK2s with the synthetic handles and scabbards are a better overall knife, in my humble opinion. I can't recommend the SOG SEAL Pup enough. It is one of my all time favorites.
