But I speak Russian as well as Latvian and I watch many videos from native Russian people. Not the Russian news, which are propaganda and false at most (these are not only mine, but also Russins' words). When the USA invented the first nuclear bomb, they were not childish. Having a good nuclear arsenal is a right thing for every big country as it gives you a warranty of not having any military conflicts on your land. Childish is talking about using nuclear weapons in a global war. I don't care that Russia increases military budget. USA's is much bigger anyways. USA improves their technologies, while Russia doesn't have highly educated people anymore. At most. USSR had top scientists of the world, they could do a weapon and science race with USA. But not Russia. I am not defending neither USA or Russia, I just say the actual situation. Some Latvians are really Russophobic, but just 3-5%. Half of Latvia speaks Russian, even in Riga. @Urban Student Prepper and which comments did I dismiss? Russian army is not the top army in the world anymore, that's a fact. It was a top army till the USSR crashed. Now USA and China are more powerful. And as the education is low, it doesn't have big possibilities in the future. The next thing i dismissed is the nuclear war. In such war there are no winners - everyone would be a loser. This is all what i dismissed - the "best" Russian army and the nuclear war. I would want to add, that the Russian army is still very powerful, but not the best anymore. Now try to disagree that in the Russia there is a bad education, bad healthcare, bad laws, bad politicans (and very high corruption), bad economical status, high crime. If you do disagree, then you are a real Russophobic man who disagrees in spite of that the most Russians know these facts.

I don't watch Latvian news, I watch Russian bloggers and comments. They are the only right sources of information, because they come from the people. News corporations lie a lot. Also - St. Peterburg and Moscow are not all the Russia. There are even jokes made by native Russian people - Moscow and Russia are 2 different countries.

Take a look at the statistics for every killed soviet soldier there were 27 dead talibans. By the time the soviet union withdrew the troops their mission was pretty much accomplished that is why the regime in Afganistan lasted for another 3 years
