A series of videos about a journey along on the BAM, which was the construction site of the century, the most expensive and complex infrastructure facility in the USSR.
Ust-Ilimsk is a city in the Irkutsk region, a city of four All-Union construction projects. It is not directly associated with BAM, since it is located on the dead-end line of the Khrebtovaya (Ridge) - Ust-Ilimsk, but access to this line, to this city, is still carried out through the old Stalinist BAM. On this line, Ust-Ilimsk station is located at 215 kilometers, and the line itself connects to BAM at 573.
An important clarification. The Ust-Ilimsky tram was NOT the last tram system of the USSR, but it was one of the last. The last tram system is the Cheryomushkinsky tram, which is located in Khakassia and connects the village of Cheryomushki with the Sayano-Shushenskaya hydroelectric power station.
