I had the pleasure of meeting Ustad Akram Khan at his home in Delhi. it was my first time to India and I was 21.. I arrived at his home with my torn patched punk jeans, army jacket, equally covered in patches and dreadlocks. I could not afford the entire 6 months tuition as I had planned for and decided that I should come back when I was more serious and knew something about life ;) Akram gave me one official Lesson and taught me Teen Taal :)

I was fortunate enough to hear this concert live at Balgandharv Pune.l must appreciate the najakat of lehara by Tanmay. And @ Akramkhanji no enough words describe his mastery and stamina on tabla. Only to listen and enjoy.🌺🌺

I had the chance to meet Ustad Akram khan ji in Mumbai. I can say that he is one of the best tabla player and Also stalwart of Ajrara gharana. His balance of tabla and dagga is unique.

Akram bhai has an effortlessness in his playing, especially when he's at full speed. And possibly THE tabla player with the most clarity in his tone. Incredible !
