Ustad Amir Khan sahab is the only vocalist who explored/experienced/ showed a new horizon for every raga he dealt with. Not only that, he could also portray different faces of a same raga ! There are so many Hansdhwani audios here but all have different beauties. I consider myself to be blessed that I am a student and belong to fourth generation of Indore Gharana.

There are no words to describe Ustad Amir Khan saheb rendition of all Raga, but specifically Hansadhwani where I think he has taken this to another dimension...May his soul rest in peace in Heaven where Ustad Vilayat Khan saheb and others should be in mehfil :)

Late Ustad Amir Khan's variety in the vistar is unmatched, Supremely sublime & thus creating the mood of this beautiful Raga in the most pristine style. There shall never be a 2nd Amir Khan. It is extremely sad that the world of Indian Classical music has lost a golden voice with versatility & unerring skills in modulations,& taankari. This particular rendering is absolutely stretching the limits, and the use of merukhand style sargams and taans gives a lot of "material" to sing...6 notes of hansdhwani sung in innumerable patterns... Absolute rare treasure

Do you mean five notes? Hansadhwani is a raag of audav jaati, which means it is based on a pentatonic scale. Specifically, the notes here are: स रे ग प नी ।

Salil Babu used this raga to telling effect in the Manna Dey - Lata Mangeshkar duet in Parivaar: Ja Tu Se Naahi Bolu Kanhaiya. The first line of this song was taken from the composer saint Muthuswami Dikdhitar's composition Vatapi Ganapatim Bhajeham. This raga was created by Muthuswami Dikshitar's father Ramaswami Dikshitar
