This is well before Ustaad ji had become famous in any way or properly recognized (he's obviously still supremely underrated). But this Berkeley performance, with the Yaman in the first half, might be one of the best recordings I've heard. Interesting that now he plays a higher scale sitar I believe.

Any discerning listener may compare Ustadji playing Jog in 1989 and 2018, both versions available in youtube and realise what crass commercialisation has done to Hindustani classical music. Ustadji himself may hear this rendition again to retrace the lost young sitar master. The class of audience is the key.
