My cousin actually ran out of his room with his gun because he thought I was being attacked!! I made him watch the rest of the match with me and the highlights and he said it was "pretty cool" . High praise from him!

Watching this was really emotional because many of the players that were part of the WWC glory, this would be their last. I’m so happy for them and especially for Pinoe. What a player and person.

@tripleheshy lol... yeah.. the character, Alice, in Resident Evil, was strong. Those girls fighting in UFC are freakin strong. Rarely would I refer to any soccer player as strong, man or woman... so definitely well said. I am very proud of them, though, for bringing us trophies. They're pretty amazing, compared to the rest of the world. Definitely deserving of all the silverware that comes with greatness in their sport.

@tripleheshy sexist idiot. The USWNT draw more viewers in the US than the USMNT, draw a lot more sponsorship money, and perform better (don't bother arguing these points, even USSoccer federation agrees on these points). The USWNT won't make as much as a men's world cup winner, but they should make at least the same and probably way more than the USMNT, who once again pull in less money and preform worse (all facts).

@tripleheshy You're wrong again. I'll say it slower. EVEN ... USSOCCER ... AGREES ... THE USWNT ... BRINGS IN ... MORE MONEY ... THAN THE USMNT.... If you could read I'd point you to their financial filings. The highest TV ratings for a US soccer game in history are USWNT games. And the sponsorship money which makes up fully HALF of all of USSoccer's revenue is primarily paid to have access to the USWNT players, tho SUM (i bet you don't even know what that is) hides this fact via the contract. I remember being so incredibly proud of this team. I wasn't seeing gender, i was seeing proper footballers playing real football. This team's dynamic was off the charts and coach Ellis deserves the highest praise. Looking forward to seeing what coach Andonovski brings to the table.

It has been a great month to remember. I have been a fan of USWNT and women's soccer since that 2011 game VS Brazil. I was quite sad as a Real Madrid fan that year, but saw the USWNT fighting to come back in the last second of that game and immediately fall in love with them. It was hearbroken in the final but was the beginning of the best era as well. Now the USWNT has won 2 WWC champions back to back, what a journey, same as Real with 4 ECC titles from 2014. My favorite men's national teams Portugal and France has won Euro/WC as well. I feel so happy as a football/soccer fan.

I shed tears of joy each time I watch the semifinal saving penalty and the last winning on finals. They ignited new passion in me for female soccer that any other game.... You made us proud as a nation. bless you!!!

@@1dumdum664 I’ve grown up on men’s and women’s soccer, I’ve watched it plenty. Still, some people would definitely have said it was disrespectful but not nearly as many people as women get. Celebrations are more normalized in men’s soccer, and there are quite a few instances where they’re this celebration.

I just only started getting into women’s football and I gotta say that this documentary was top-notch! US team is awe inspiring for their courage and perseverance, I can imagine how tough it can be to be criticised left and right and still expect to perform on the highest level. Their confidence is surely redefining women in sports. Also, Alex Morgan - what a beautiful and deadly lady! 😍

Every time they scored, they celebrated like they won the whole thing. They should show sportsmanship and class, and they didn’t

I was at a soccer camp as this game was happening. They had it playing on the speakers. We were scrimmaging and I remember just stopping mid run and hearing Rapinoes second goal.

The caliber of teams they faced this tournament goes to show just how well the womens sport is progressing and just how much things are moving forward, seeing so many countries begin to take this sport and these women seriously is something we had always hoped for and now is finally here ! 2023 is about to be scary af.. it’s anyones game ! I’m always behind OOSA.. but win or lose, as long as the game is growing - I’ll be cheering !

*About USA pronounced in the Spanish way. The USWNT has a large Spanish-speaking of followers - I among them - and they used to chant USA as it's pronounced in Spanish. They also chant "Dale, Dale USA" in Spanish. They mean "Put them to the sword USA". It started in 1985, but not by Italians as Ertz says, but rather by Latinos residing in the USA.*
