As a guy I just throw in those pods and twist until something happens. Can't really mess up unless you're washing something super delicate and if that's the case, just get a professional to get it done.

It took me a minute to find useful videos on how to use a UK washer. I love them, but how did this not occur to them? Or at the very least ask their team mates.
