UT99 - Assault in

My new and improved speedrun of every Assault map in Unreal Tournament '99, handily beating my old time of 3:35. Mercifully the quality is also much better!
Recently I nabbed the OpenGL Render of this game, so it runs absolutely beautifully now, which made working on this project far more enjoyable. I've been quietly working away at this for a few days, and after finally figuring out one of the tricks, I recorded these runs straight away. I improved on every map by a fair amount. I suspect I could improve it further, but I'm very pleased with the final result, so I likely won't. I'll leave that to the pros. I hope you enjoy my runs all the same, though!

this legend just calculated every millimeter of the trajectory of every bullet and razor disk, to perfectly hit their objectives in the perfect time

I can't take credit for any of the tricks! All well known before I got around to doing them. The only shots that weren't are the shots on Rook. I couldn't re-create the trick using any of the line ups I'd seen in the past, so I had to figure out those specific shots myself. That was an hour well spent ^_^

True, but it was still impressive was it not? Any mishap in enemy formation and there would've been little to no difference in time

0:08 i've tried on at least 4 different games, shooting about a thousand disks with all possible angles. One headshot, but haven't broken the hydraulic system. On the train, since i did not know we could use hammer to trick jump i have an other way instead that does it in 45s : take the boots, jump on acid structure, get belt, get down through the door, walk through wagon 1, outside jump on wagon 2, go down through wagon 3 door, take stairs, activate door, go down by one of the closest hole, enter the control room

The shot at 0:08 is an interesting one. I tried it for ages myself until I finally realized that your shots differ depending on what weapon position you choose. Originally, I had my weapon on the right side of the screen and I couldn't make the shot. Then I believe I switched it to the center position, removed the weapon entirely, went with the simple crosshair, and that did the trick! As far as I remember for lining up the shot, if you pause the video just before the shot, you'll notice there are bolts on the floor. I positioned myself in between the second and third bolts, and then aimed at the spot I shoot at. Once you switch up your weapon position, the spot honestly isn't too difficult to find. It's pretty forgiving. Then every once in a while you'll destroy the compressor in 1 shot. Most of the time it takes 2 shots, but 1 shot is possible. I hope all that helps!

i was ther, online, when we discovered those glitches, those games back than was way better and for free now i have steam and a lot of money but i dont like anything :/
