Totally agree Kerri you really haven't experienced the Narrows unless you have felt the solitude of the Narrows. Because there are only a few campsites they limit the number of passes so you don't run into people until the next day.

I've been here for 23 years now, and I've been visiting for 20 years before that. This state has endless, and I mean endless, places to explore. From the surface of Mars around Hanksville, to the Candy Cliffs, to the High Uintahs, the west desert, the Might 5 national parks, the countless state parks, lakes, rivers, canyons, etc. UT is a difficult place to really wrap your head around.

The Narrows definitely needs to be done in the middle of summer otherwise it can be chilly with some of the wind, but it is definitely worth it, not overrated at all, especially if you’re going from the top to the bottom which is a pretty big commitment, but as you said, more beautiful once you get into the middle of it past the entrance with the crowds. And yes, Angels Landing is absolutely epic

The Narrows is awesome and beautiful. You just have to be prepared with proper shoes and clothing. Biggest key is, go first thing in the morning. You’ll be nearly alone and get to enjoy the canyon and the beauty of it. On the way out, so many people are crowding through it kills the experience. Key is, go early!

Love these, Utah has an abundance of locations to explore. The Narrows is one of our favorite in Zion. We'd recommend dressing warmer, bringing lunch and going down both paths further. It is worth the views with leaving the crowds! Another amazing slot canyon is just outside of st George, its headed north right off the highway called kanaraville falls. Similar setting as the narrows, without the crowds, but go in prepared. Pack a sweatshirt, check the weather and bring water and food. Also goblin valley has 2 beautiful slot canyons called little wild horse and bell that is a loop so you can hike a huge circle. These are just my favorites, but so many more to explore!

They have special neoprene socks, special shoes and dry suits you can rent to keep warm in the cold water when hiking The Narrows in Zion. If you're not prepared, then yes the cold would affect how you would rate that hike. With preparation you would have enjoyed it more. I didn't know the waters of Sand Hollow were so warm. Thanks so much Mayra!! No we don’t have that video made yet but great idea! Usually when hiking, Ian wears the camera bag up with some water inside and Ana brings the dresses/clothes we will change into for pictures (dresses, hats, shoes, etc). On longer hikes we also pack quick lunches or snacks in Tupperware. Hope this helps!!

Just watched your video, we’ll done! I’ve hiked the Zion Narrows from top to bottom twice. I know that you can’t do that any longer, but it’s seriously the best hike I’ve ever done. I would agree the bottom up is not as fun. Angels Landing is other worldly and I agree it’s highly recommended. I’ve hiked the trail over 20 times and it never disappoints.

My dad and I backpacked Zion a few years back on the Wildcat Canyon and the East Rim trails and only came across 3 groups of people over the span of a week. If people have the ability to backpack (even if it's a simple over night trip) I always recommend them in the NPs. You get away from the crowds and see parts of the park few see.

We did the narrows a few weeks ago and there was SO MANY PEOPLE! The water was muddy and shallow and very difficult to walk through....but I'm glad we did it.
