So I honestly have to say that this video is one of the very best travel videos I have ever seen. I've seen a lot of videos. My greatest respect for this informative and visualized video. Absolutely perfect! Thank you for passing on your knowledge to us. I will be able to use it this year. Many thanks from Germany to the great countries!

Great videos. Your travel guides are helpful, informative, and entertaining. I would have loved to see a piece on Zion. It truly was my favorite part of the grand circle tour. Some of the hikes there such as Angel's landing and The Narrows are truly one of a kind in this country. Keep up the great work!

Yeah, I wish I spent more time in Zion. The only time I spent any real time there I didn't do much shooting. But you know-- I wonder if its popular enough to have its own 60+ min travel guide? Turns out its the 3rd most visited park in US. hmm-- thanks for the idea.

So lovely ! I first went to Zion, no trail hiking, cross country backpacking w/ a wilderness class from UC Santa Cruz. We read Thoreau, Edward Abbey, discussed spiritual stuff, feeling our hearts open to ea other and to the *sacred* land. It was the beginning of my environmental activism. Certainly my conditioned values were changed forever. All thanks to the Red Rock Color Country of S. Utah and my beloved hike leader mentors Gene Rumrill & Vana. HILO HI

We watched the whole documentary on youtube on our TV and we here for leaving a comment. This is one of the best videos we have seen covering a region. We are from Greater Toronto Area and pretty much anchored on Canadian and the Great Lake states of the USA. This video has introduced us to landscape that we have never visited before. Now we are planning to be here next year, because this year is almost lost to the pandemic. Thank you for making such an educating and informative video on so many national parks, state parks, and national monuments of the US.

I am so glad I visited this area in the 80s and 90s before the crowds got overwhelming. There are still many areas in southern Utah and the rest of the four corners that are worth visiting, but you'll have to find them yourself.

Very interesting and informative video, thank you! My husband and I will be going to Springdale, UT Zion N. P. for a week in “hot”July, 2021. We hope to visit as many parks and places as possible in 1week, starting from the Narrows. I’ve been watching many videos, even making notes for myself to plan our trip. I also pay attention to hiking and trail difficulty levels since I can only do easy to moderate hikes. So videos like this is helpful. We are so excited for out trip next month! I really enjoyed your video of the "magnificent desolation". I would have absolutely hated being stuck in the middle a hundred years ago! What a nighmare that would have been! I live in New Mexico, in the tall Ponderosa pine,but I have no desire to go visit the canyon lands. Your video was enough.

Did the S portion of the circle years ago (Zion, Mon. Valley, Mexican Hat/S. Juan R. goosenecks, Mokee Dugway, Natural Bridges, 4 Corners, Mesa Verde, Aztec Ruins, Shiprock, Petr. Forest, Meteor Crater, Grand Canyon). Still need to do the N part, someday. One little glitch, at 54:18 re Hwy 128, the narration mentions the Green R. - should be the Colorado R. Also, railroading fans might enjoy a side trip from Mesa Verde to Durango for the narrow gauge train ride. Thanks for a great video.

This was super awesome Tour Guide & Professor Salis! I have watched it several times. I'm an artist and my abstract-surreal-landcapes are heavily influenced by the American southwest. :-) I've learned a lot about Utah, definitely one of my favorite states, as far as visuals go, now, thanks to you and others, but I think you are at the top of the list. So thanks a LOT for this video, especially. I don't have a car so my traveling is by KZfaq videos pretty much. I hope you will make more. And I would love to see more that cover the areas you covered in this video. I'm sure you barely filmed the tip of the iceberg, judging by other videos I've seen. I just like your style of describing the roads, landscapes, people you meet, all of it. I say you barely covered the tip of the iceberg, but ironically you somehow managed to lay a firm groundwork of the Utah National Parks you visited. Again, Kudos !!

Since you’re going that way, I have several other videos on the lesser know parts of the area in my Road Less Traveled series. At the very least look at the Monument valley side trip videos, the 4 corners and “valley of the gods”. These aren’t covered well in longer video

This is a terrific video. Full of info and lots of details I don't think you could get elsewhere. I'm in NM and thinking of doing a road trip of the Mighty 5 (and a few other sites). I'm 74, so I don't feel I could do the scary hikes (love to hike but find that I'm a little more cautious than I used to be). Also though I am a watercolor artist (not sketcher), I did find some of the light info very interesting. Helios might be useful to me, though I find that I like more subtle light as well.Thinking of this Fall (2022) .Subscribed.

Thank you very much. Utah is a great trip that doesn't require a lot of hiking. Even Delicate Arch is a pretty short trail. Hiking in Bryce is a tricky. I know you're a fan of my channel, but in case you don't know I've also have a few "Road Less Traveled" videos that include Trips to Bisti, Chaco, Hovenweep, Ship Rock and other places. Only Bisti requires hiking. Thanks again for watching and commenting.

@@TheWestisBig I did hike in Bisti, actually was easy. And I didn't watch that one, but did see it. Just found your channel doing a search of the Mighty 5. I will no doubt hike whereever I can, but if I can't I can't. I often do more watercolors if hiking isn't possible.

planning my trip for June, a have about a month before I hit glacier for a week or so, wanna hit the Canadian parks for first time ( Waterton, and perhaps Banff and Jasper) . a week or more in Moab, then mesa verde to monument valley?... still firming up my plans and reservations. thanks for all your help.

You can spend a couple of days waiting in your car on the highway outside Moab trying to get in. I always wind up turning around. Arches is stunning. There is a state park called Goblin Valley and it is stunning. They used this park in the movie Galaxy Quest because it is so other worldly.

Yes, someone else mentioned that. I forgot to delete the orig VO track when I added the 2019 Vo to that section. I made the correction and added a few more 2018 shots and am uploading the new version now.

For National Parks Yes it’s $80- seniors get a discount. State and Tribal parks are not included as are some other attractions.

I'm a 4x4 guide in Canyonlands. I hate to tell you, but your turnaround point was only 10 minutes at most from Musselman. Definitely check it out next time. Just don't walk on it!!!

@@TheWestisBig Actually your other video is the one that would be very beneficial. The identification and map of the many photo ops is what I would like to have. We will be traveling, and camping, in a RV and then planning on driving my F-150 4x4 through all of the parks. My wife is having her hip replaced next week so we're not planning on any hiking and hopefully she be somewhat OK by mid Sept.
