I had a few cameras (DSLR, GoPro, Drone (didn't really get to use because of the bad weather). I was with the media group so we can only get to so many of the locations and since the leaders took the race out so fast it limited my coverage of the field. My previous video had much better coverage IMO. Thanks for watching!

@@andrew.drummond was it cold rain, or just rain? Everyone was still wearing shorts at the finish line. Did the temp ever dropped below 0°C while you where in the mountains?

@@goodtoBfit It was super cold at night and especially up at the mountain passes. It often snows / sleets during the race and a lot of racers don't layer up until it's too late.

Sometimes you have to choose unless you have more camera people. So they did a good job. But maybe next time I will run behind the ultra chicks and get you some video...and then pass them and get you some video from the front too...

If they can keep up with the leaders they will get more coverage. They were too far back to be much of a factor.

That's a sad news because I love such race recaps like what Jamil Coury and his crew does, which are similar style - he follows the runners. I don't see how this can give and advantage to the runner, the videographers usually struggle to keep pace, plus they are rigged with electronics. Of course they shouldn't supply the runners but I doubt they do. If UTMB or other organization chooses to ban this, they'll essentially limit exposure, which directly affects funding of their event (let's not forget that this is what drives sports like football). If there was a person who would follow the runners with 360 cams on a gimball and I could switch between the runners on demand, I'd pay per view. Too much commercialization maybe infavorable and anyone can take the route of the Barkley (which I respect and love), but I like to see these footages. From what I see here it'd be unfair to penalize any runner with an hour for this. Good grief!

They should allow some filming...but not pacing!!!

I would say that Andrew Drummond probably had a press pass as entry into the actual CP area is strictly limited and he's run into them unchallenged. For that reason, the runners would not be penalized if he was running alongside filming.

littlebritton1 they are allowed to do that in the CP area, not on the trail. UTMB's camera operators worked around the stop areas. But they didn't follow the runners outside far. And noone else is supposed to run alongside the official runners. That's just it. It's the official rule and not up for discussion. You can stand and film, but not run alongside. And that's what you see on the video and what i saw while watching the live.
