Tip for sewing silk. As long as you are going to wash it give it a heavy spray of spray starch before you cut and sew. Then it is like sewing paper.

Utrecht stof markt, lapjesmarkt in Breedstraat was my favorite when i lived in Utrecht! Cool new ideas, with the sequin fabric and printed panels for beginner sewers.

AAAH, I lived in Utrecht for 5 years and have never been to the fabric market. Probably because I didn't sew yet. I now live in Belgium, but regularly cross the border. I think I'll make a stopover in Utrecht on a Saturday morning.

@@luzUpcycle I do think it's a good idea to go as early as possible. I just have to take into account that I have to drive 2 hours to get there, hopefully including finding a parking space.😥

Thank you that was fascinating!! Wow that is a lot of fabric. Is this market every weekend or once a month? That bin of remnants would be perfect for your patch work. I made that Tshirt with the ruffle on the bottom and I'm making another one because it turned out so good. So Happy Sewing for you and hope everything turns out great that you want to make.

I have a beautiful lilac ruffled bed skirt and bought a white multicolor floral print . Some o want too put them together for a dress.

Wow, some lovely markets you have to go to! What a choice. There is nothing like this where I live in the UK. Thank you for this, and you have quite a stash of fabric! My husband says I have too much.... Look forward to you future projects!

Hello ! tank you . Utrecht seems a good and very interesting spot for tourism and fabrics . Euro is to day a a little much more than a US dollar , 1 euro = 1, 09 $. Thank you .

Kilroy was here and the drawing originated in WWII from the GI’s stationed in Europe. They would draw this on buildings and such, like you said graffiti.
