Great University with friendly people and totally dedicated teachers. As an alumnus I have fond memories of UTRGV (actually from UTPA its legacy institution) which stands for THE UNIVERSITY OF TEXAS RIO GRANDE VALLEY. I have a graduate degree from another northern university and also have taken classes at UT AUSTIN, and let me tell you, UTRGV is a great university. You will get a quality education there and you will get your money's wort. The university has one of the lagest Hispanic population in Texas and even the US and a varied international students presence. I never encountered an instance of descrimination at the univerdity while I was a student. It really is friendly place. Also from the university, you could drive 30 min to the south and visit Mexico, or you could drive one hour east and enjoy the great turist destination and the beautiful beaches of South Padre Island. Is this a university ONLY for International students?!?! Where are the LOCAL (American) students? What do THEY have to say about this place? Who cares what the International students think? I am interested in knowing what the American students think and WHO they are. Are they mainly from Texas, what is the ethnic breakdown of the AMERICAN students? That's what I am interested in knowing. UGH!
