The UTS Tour is well and truly under way in 2024, with UTS Oslo kicking off the season with a bang! In what was one of UTS’s most dramatic events yet, eight of the world’s best players went head-to-head for three furious days of UTS action.
This Official Movie tells the story of this wonderful edition. It praises the incredible level of tennis played there, the connexion between the players and the fans which UTS is about and the warm welcome by the people from Oslo.
Casper “The Ice Man” Ruud, Alexander “The Bublik Enemy” Bublik, Holger “The Viking” Rune and Dominic “Thieminho” Thiem squared off in Group A in Norway. The Ice Man and The Bublik Enemy prevailed after a hard-fought group stage that also saw Nicolai “The Junior” Budkov Kjaer make an appearance as well.
Over in Group B, it was Andrey “Rublo” Rublev up against Alex “The Demon” de Minaur, Benoit “The Rebel” Paire and Gael “La Monf” Monfils for the other two Final Four spots. When an unexpected incident saw La Monf disqualified, it was Rublo and The Demon who advanced from Group B.
Ruud’s dreams of a home title were dashed in the semi-finals by a red-hot Demon on the final day of UTS Oslo, while Rublo continued his charge up the UTS rankings with a win over The Bublik Enemy.
In a much-anticipated rematch of their Australian Open clash, Rublev took on de Minaur for the first UTS trophy of the year-and became the first ever two-time UTS champion in history.
