He’s not. He said it himself that they attend vocal lessons together under a vocal teacher, that’s where they do song study. I was also under the same impression until I watched his videos myself. He does direct them sometimes, when he’s involved in the production of the song. And for sure he advises them but not in a paid vocal teacher capacity, more like a hyung in the same profession.

You may have heard of onestar with his real name , Im Han Byul. Onestar is his stage name. He is one of chen and baekhyun's vocal coaches and they did covers of his songs before.

Fun Fact: one star takes the vocal test over and over again to tune his note with Chen. And Chen doing it with one test. But I like the sound of both of them. Very cool, which is why one star is perfect for Chen's vocal coach. And Chen was the best singer❤️

Im Han byul aka Onestar is one of the popular ballad singer/songwriter in Korea. He's a vital part of EXO's career. He was Chen and Baekhyun's vocal coach. He also was a vocal director to some of their albums. He was the vocal director to both of Baekhyun's albums as well. He wrote this song as part of his breakup song trilogy. I think it was originally meant to be a part of Chen's 1st album but decided to make it a duet instead. The high notes on the bridge part was not there when he 1st recorded it but when he heard Chen sang so well he felt inadequate and re-recorded his part again.

He’s not the actual vocal coach of exo mems, i went to his interview and he actually said they attend vocal lessons together with a coach. He’s more a hyung that gives them advice about music :)

When i first listened to this song, I was expecting some amazing vocals from Chen (I didnt know Onestar then). But then when Onestar hit that amazing note, I was awestruck like anything else. Then comes Chen's highnote and now its like one of my fav songs

We were all preparing at the time for a duet of "Screams" when we heard that the song will be drop out, because these two are known for their high notes. lol . I am still amazed and melted again and again by the soft but high and powerful notes of Chen. Han Byol by the way, is involved in Exo albums in vocal production and even singing background vocals for them a lot
