@@thesavagefam2791 I'm still thinking about creating a video with just routes but that will take some time to parse out the individual routes from the trip. When I get to that, I'll be sure to post a video on some of my favorite rides/routes so stay tuned and thanks for watching!

Good video. Lake Superior is impressive. Didn't realize how flat the UP is. Thank you for not screwing up the video with music.

Thanks for watching and I appreciate the feedback about music. I always try to find ways to improve the videos and it sounds like most like the sounds of nature, the machine and voice over tracks. I'll keep that in mind for the future :)

East and south areas of the UP are sandy and flat. North Central and North West areas have some pretty impressive rocky cliffs and views. It ain't the Rockies but it's pretty rugged.

I've been ice climbing near Wawa in the canyon years ago - it's beautiful up there! What is required for trail permits in Ontario? Anything I should know before planning a trip up there? Oh and thanks for watching!

I've been toying with the idea for a while. Just need to set aside the time to do it. If you have GAIA as a navigation app, you can access them from a web browser but it's quite a bit of work to parse out sections, etc. I do have some plans to publish some routes this year so I'll work to record the routes as I go so that I can share them. Thanks for watching!

Hey nice content. Im going to be staying in brimley soon. Have u been to any trails that area?
@UTVBoondocker
@UTVBoondocker Ай бұрын
Thanks, appreciate you watching! So I have not taking the trails around that area too much but there are a ton in the area that I've scoped out. I did ride my motorcycle all through that area and I can tell you that you'll want to stop at the Spectacle lake lookout point just northwest of Brimley. There is an great lake overlook and an ancient cemetery - lots of American Indian history in that area. Also something to consider if your carry a sidearm, may want to look into those laws. Anyhow, I hope you have a great time and I'm sure we'll have a ride over in that area at some point. That is one of the very few areas in the UP that I have not ridden in *yet*.

That area is full of trails. It’s part of the Pabst blue ribbon original snowmobile trail. Hundreds of miles of trail

@@SuperSYMPATHIZER Ha, I didn't know that. It is a great area - that's why I bought property up there as a basecamp. I really love the west side but it's a LOOOONG haul to get over there to enjoy it. Thanks for watching!!

Great video!! Beautiful place you all went to. Couple questions I live northern Indiana is there a website or could you tell me is there maps I can get or what? I want to plan a trip up there this summer 2024 plus cabins to rent? Any help would be appreciated again great video
@UTVBoondocker
@UTVBoondocker 6 ай бұрын
First, thanks for watching! If you are looking for maps, the Michigan DNR has a site with some maps (www.michigan.gov/dnr/things-to-do/orv-riding/where). I prefer to use a cellular enabled tablet (no service needed, just the cellular chip) or you can use your phone. The best apps that I've found are GAIA (with the subscription and pre-downloaded maps) or you use Andriod, VW Mapping is another popular choice. I find these are really helpful with navigation. If you are looking to rent cabins, I would suggest VRBO based on where you want to ride. I have several videos on the different areas of the UP to ride.

What are you using for GPS?
@UTVBoondocker
@UTVBoondocker 6 ай бұрын
Hi Marc! Thanks for watching and I use GAIA (gaiagps.com). Specifically, I use it on an Apple iPad tablet that is cellular enabled (but you do not need cell service on it to work). When you have a cellular tablet, it comes with a GPS chip that is always active. You could also use a phone but I like a bigger screen. In some of my other videos, you will find what I use to mount it so let me know if you have questions. It's probably important to note that I bought the premium subscription ($40 a year i believe) that let's me see all of the layers that are available which is REALLY helpful. You just need to download the offline maps before you go so that when you don't have a signal, you can navigate easily. Hope that helps you out!
