Setting the record straight on something stupid I said, and talking about how it actually was to shoot the UV Button.

That's quite difficult to hook into D-Loop :) and it reverse my thought on this most expensive button release. Thanks you for the honest sharing !

Guaranteed 99% (of the UV sizing guide) didn't try it with hunting gloves. Their number that 75% of users select that size, then is obviously skewed, then so also their decision to just launch a size M...

Not sure if you see this but my UV button was eating d loops up, not sure if it was the retainer clip and me holding my release a certain way so when I released it, it would catch the d loop ever so slightly and start picking at it or what. Wasn’t a fan though and sold it and picked up a Onnex which I’m very happy with

I haven't seen d-loop wear from mine, but it wouldn't be the first time I've heard of it. It's more likely a sharp edge on your hook that should have been tumbled off before the release was assembled. I think ultimately you made the right choice 👍

Thanks for watching. Both Releases are good options, but I think the Onnex is far more versatile out of the box than the UV Button.

Ok mine came in an I been playing with it. First the clam shell adjustment is straight trash. When you bear down on it the whole arm just moves because of that paint they use, and makes the spot you wanted go away. The trigger system moves straight back. I basically had to go light as I could just so I could keep pulling, and use back tension. You have to have your thumb completely wrapped around the knob an just pull straight back. I use #23 d loop an this capture system the button uses absolutely will not clip unless i force with my thumb. My hinge can touch arrows at 20 yards. After an hour with the button I can do the same. I'm not super happy with it though. I feel the truball synapse has shorter neck, better weight, and way better trigger. Bottom line is can you be competitive with it? Yeah with time I guess. After shooting it awhile an swapping back🎉 to my hinge I had slight target panic an flinched when I was in the middle.

Thanks for watching. Yeah, using a single screw to hold something that is constantly being torqued on is a poor design, in my opinion. The spring gate for the hook is not nearly as easy to slip your d-loop through as they showed in the advertisements, and there are plenty of other options that cost less and perform the same task. The Tru Fire Synapse still holds its own despite being out for a while now. I think I'll do a review on it some time. Thank you for sharing your experience.

My synapse the arm screw holes stripped, so I made one at work an tig welded a knob. It works, but think next time I go to my bow shop I'll donate it to someone who needs it

@@tjdreyer yep, finally got the click hooks and got them set up the way I like. I'll get that video shot as soon as I can. Overall I think the Onnex Hinge compliments the Thumb very well and it functions as well as my other hinges along with having the draw lock feature and being very easy to adjust.

so is big size of the onnex thumb is similar to the medium size uv button?
@ajbholsters2035
@ajbholsters2035 9 ай бұрын
Correct. Stan releases tend to run small. So the Large Stan OnneX is comparable to the Medium UV Button. The Large UV Button is closer to a XXL OnneX. I have printable PDFs on my website if you wanted to compare the sizing under "Sizing Guide".

Hmm. The main reason I was attracted to this was that the fully stainless construction sounded super durable. I have two bows, 75-90, and 90-100...I imagine this would be very, very durable with high weights. But, the more I read the worse it gets. The hook doesn't return, like my Onnex, nor does it have the trainer pin feature (a very good safety too). The only reason I was iffy about the Onnex was the lack of reinforcement near the hook, and the fact that STAN customer service is unresponsive. This more and more seems like the iPhone of bow releases, nice materials, overpriced and doesn't bring much to the table. (Still low key want one tho)

One of the things that keeps impressing the hell out of me is how easy the UV release clips onto my d loop, I don't seem to have anywhere near the trouble your having getting it to attach to the loop, the other thing that I think is great about the UV is the adjustable thumb peg, it can be lengthened and shortened, and then the button it's self can be fine tuned due to it being off set, so when you loosen the screw it can be moved into different positions just by twisting one way or another, and it can be moved forward and back like most other releases. It is definitely over priced and the only reason I could afford one was a friend was selling it for a lot less than he paid, I could never justify spending that much on a release, and maybe the reason I'm so impressed with it is because I've only ever shot Chinese copies of the brand name hand held release aids because that's all I could afford and any of high end made in USA releases are just so expensive hear in Australia .

The 4 UV Buttons I own all require me to press the hook retainer to the d-loop just above the bottom knot. It snaps on more easily that way. If you are using a stiffer d-loop material, perhaps that is the deciding factor. I use BCY 24 and it doesn't seem to be stiff enough to just snap right on it.

@@ajbholsters2035 I have 2 Bows, 1 with a d loop that is definitely stiffer than the d loop on my other bow witch is by no means would be considered stiff and I still don't have any trouble clicking onto the d loop, I wonder if I'm using a different technique

I currently shoot the UV H2 hinge large as my primary hinge and and the blade pro flex large as my primary thumb and can get very similar impact points with minute changes to form and anchor. As far as comfort goes, I could shoot the UV H2 all day and not get uncomfortable... The Blade on the other hand, after about 20 arrows, my index finger starts to get a slight hotspot/pressure point. With that said, I will be definitely giving the UV button a try after hunting season (I'm holding out that they will be in stock with UV and catch them UV's annual Black Friday sale - fingers crossed).... My hands are oddly shaped... Meaty fingers for large sized releases and average thumb to pinky wing-span likely better paired for medium releases.... I can shoot both sizes....I'm hoping UV will have large buttons in stock by then, otherwise I will buy the medium and sell/trade for a medium H2. I am anxious and impatient you compare my blade and eventual UV button side by side. I'm already committed to my hunting setup with the Iowa opener on October 1, so the Blade will most certainly suffice this hunting season.
