Can you depend on a 2002 Buick Park Avenue to start when it is bitterly cold?
You'll have to take my word about the Impala, as my dad didn't want to be on camera. (It ended up starting just fine today, when the temperature was slightly warmer. Our best guess is that either the E85 fuel really won't light off like it needs to when it is bitterly cold, or that it might have taken on water. High concentration alcohols tend to be hygroscopic (absorb water from the air). It's also possible that if the E85 tank at the fuel station were nearly empty, that "watered down" fuel could have been pumped into the car.)
The bit about "is anything on this car made of glass" is intended to be humorous. It could be taken two ways--the headlight lenses are plastic OR there was so much snow on the car that it looked to have been made of snow.
It really was dangerously cold outside.

I love the -9 coolant temp read out. I was going to make a few coldstart videos here but it seemed pointless since it was 25°And everybody else is below zero. But it rarely gets below freezing here.

I've only owned 1 Buick so far, but I've got a soft spot in my heart for them. They are a lot easier to work on than Pontiacs and Chevys of the same bodies. I've worked at Walmart Tire and Lube, (now the Walmart Auto Care Center) for the past 6 years now, and the Buicks are a pleasure to work on comparatively. I'm going to have to get another one some day. My parents have a 97 LeSabre and it's such a nice car to ride in and drive, but I think the Park Avenue would be my choice.

***** Just spun a bearing in my 92 regal with a 3800. Only has 84,000 miles. I also have a 90 Regal with the same motor with over 300,000 running like new. I'd guess it was poorly maintained or was run low on oil in the past.

Oh, it had E-85 in it? I've tried that in mine but I only do it when the price is right. And I haven't tried it in the winter. Yes you are right, mine still has the 3.5 liter and the 4t65 4-speed auto. I have driven a Sonic with the 6-speed and the 6 speed took a little getting used to. I have to agree with you on that. My 4 speed in my 2008 you never even notice it for the most part. Best of luck to you in getting the issue resolved. Keep up with the awesome videos!!!! I a lot of times learn something from watching your videos(And Davidsfarms as well). Thanks again. Looks like the Caprice for the most part started just fine. Don't know what to tell you about the antenna(Neither of my B-bodies has that option).

for snow and ice i will always want fwd. rwd is the worst can have for it. don't know why people want rwd really. my 94 toyota camry had some trouble starting. monday went to gas station and turned car off and tried to start it to move it because gas on other side and wouldn't start. after finding someone to jump start tried it and it started right before doing it. yesterday didn't start let sit and started. don't know why it did that. today had to use jump start thing to start. think the alternator is going because could hear difference when unhook the jumper/charger thing.

In all seriousness, so long as you have a good battery charge those cars will start in -50 weather. Fuel injection and the 3800 in general will start and run forever in any climate.

***** Oh yeah of course, excellent workhorse engine. Over here we use full metal intake manifolds in the commodores and a supercharged version was also offered. Many of them can see beyond 300,000km before having any real issues, just most of the cooling system components tend to fail beyond the 100,000km marker (this might be us only though, I'm mostly certain we use different cooling components due to the hotter climate) Who can complain anyway when a replacement water pump is under $50 brand new?!
