It's normal move in any fights that able to kick and block at the same time, in real fight they don't always go full while attacking. A light kick prevent them from being hit or locking while ur leg go all out. So there's a 'test hit', and it's kinda risky to do in real fight cause once ur locked ur in a bad situation.

As a come up from a gangster world this man is gonna get rushed, tackled , stabbed or brass-knuckled withh his trick high kicks and get his ass handed to him on silver platter by average pub brawler.. Thats a fact.. Pretty and complicated shit never really works in a real fight .. Even in MMA octagon pulling that off is like a high light knock out and those done by men who train like maniacs and under refs supervision of rules which all fighter obiding by.. And then its more often luck of situation or reflex punch then truly planned beautifully executed trick kick or back spinning elbow and other sick looking punches.. Only when there is total domination of one fighter on the other he can treat himself to showing off with shit like this..

You can get your arms destroyed and even broken trying to stop a heavy kicker like that; reaching down is especially the worst idea. Always check low kicks, catch mid kicks, brace properly for high kicks

The reason people don't do that in real fights is because: 1. it's slower and more impractical than a regular kick. 2. it uses the knee motion to strike as opposed to the hip motion of a regular kick, making it's impact that much weaker. 3. Using that leaves you more open to a leg grab than other kicks and a tip for you, if you don't want them to see it coming, feint a kick then throw a punch, it's a much better alternative.

That's called a mawashi kick and it's actually used very often. The hip also plays a role in this kick. But yes, a roundhouse can be more powerful, yet a well executed mawashi can knockout an opponent just as fine. The head is really fragile, it doesn't need much strength to knock out someone, you just need to use proper technique.

I do that a lot actually. I have long legs, so I prefer kicks. Most people really can't react fast enough to block 2. Love the Spidy shirt btw.

What? I'm a blackbelt, stopped 10 years ago, I don't ever remember training 2 kicks unless it's a stunt, 0 practicality as it doesn't generate enough power as a full turn kick.

@@ajstyles5704 I'm black belt and trained since I was 12. Now I'm in my 40's. There are plenty of combinations done in battle. This is just one of them and trust me. It counts for a point in tournaments 😉

@@kenneth_jensen for sparring sure, it's speed and reaction, but we don't actually teach it in normal courses right? I don't remember training for it nor ever teaching it, I only remember some extra techniques for tournaments.

@@ajstyles5704 we have weeks where we in the club focus on combat in tournaments. Here we e.g. combine kicks and punches from "normal daily" training. Only imagination is the limit 🙂 We start by showing how to avoid a specific attack and then they practice that two and two. In the end, they have to come up with an attack to avoid and do counter attack. They will then show that to the rest and we all do it, but to learn. This preparing do so much for us when we are in tournaments 🙂

@@kenneth_jensen your club took weeks to prepare for tournaments? Maybe we should have done the same, we only took a week, maybe would've gotten better results had we done the same. We do the combat training as well, about the same, teach combos and perfecting technique, then spars after the evening break, focus on individuals improvements of their style, so we can tell whats good and whats bad, but only at end of the year past the exams so most students and fighters already accustomed to their new ranks. I'm wondering, is your club exams include sparring as well? 2 minutes, no protection just to see their techniques and how they adapt to other clubs?

Experience has shown me that leg strikes keep the combatant further away than arm/hand strikes do. Once they feel that, they like to keep their distance. 😅
