How about trying Sverigeloppet next year? 1867km over 7 days from Haparanda in the north to Ystad in the South.

@@OneLessCarClosed LMAO uh...I'm pretty sure they'd disqualify me for my bike (Tern GSD) I'll stick to being a utility cyclist lol.

I plan to do this ride this summer over 2 days. What would be the ideal location to pitch a tent for a night?

Another question 😀 when you drop off your gear halfway through, how do you get it back at the end? Is there a bag drop area and a bag pick up area? What do you need to show to get it back? ❤

The event is extremely well organised so it's pretty straight forward. It may have changed since I did it, your info pack should have details or they can tell you when you register for the ride at the event pavilion. The bags were available at the end from the parking lot of a school in the town. There were no lines it was all very efficient. The info packs tell you where the drop offs are.

Hey, Great video! I am doing it this year, super excited. I'm most concerned about the amount of calories I'll have to consume, how'd you go about it, did you do gels in-between the stops?

I carry emergency jelly cubes but I try to stick to real food. There are plenty of food stations on the way. Make sure to get a blueberry soup! 😀 Enjoy the ride! It's a fantastic event.

Hi, thanks for the video, it is great, really useful information. I've been looking for one in English, but there aren't many. I checked out your Strava link (very useful) and it's great to see the segments. Just a couple of questions, firstly, I am starting at 7.52pm on Friday night and wondering what time it roughly gets dark? trying to sort out my lights and secondly, I will be riding this on my own. Did you notice many people on their own or was it mainly groups and couples? I tried looking for facebook groups (in the UK) but there doesn't seem to be any :( Thanks again for sharing

Glad to hear the video was useful for you. It's dark around 11pm and if I remember correctly it starts getting light around 3am. If you look at the sun rise and sun set times and add 30 minutes to each end you'll get an idea of when you need lights. There were a fair few on there own. It's also possible to come across someone who has a similar pace to yours and buddy up between rest stations. Don't be shy! Having a chat or sharing a wheel will help make the time go faster. Last tip, try to give yourself a break from staring at your computer stats and enjoy the ride.

Hi, we are doing the vatternrundan this June, with two months of training 😂 although we will be a bit slower than you and Nathan. I loved the video, it answered lots of questions. One additional question I have is are there any steep gradients? By steep, I mean any long climbs or are all the slopes very gradual?
@OneLessCarClosed
@OneLessCarClosed Жыл бұрын
Glad to hear the video helped! If you pick a reasonable pace (it should feel slow for the first 100km!) and fuel/hydrate well I'm sure you will get there. If I remember correctly the steepest grade was 6%. It is a very flat 300km less than 1700m. If you check out my Strava record you'll see where the "hills" are www.strava.com/activities/1642487823

thanks for the great video :) how much what was your longest ride before this?
@OneLessCarClosed
@OneLessCarClosed 5 ай бұрын
In training we were up to about 265-270km if I recall. At this distance on a mostly flat ride it's about getting as much time in the saddle as possible to condition your body.
