"In Defence of Peace!" is a Soviet anti-war song written shortly after the end of World War II during the beginning of the Cold War by Victor Bely and Ilya Frenkel. The song came about in response to the attack of imperialism launched on the camp of People's Democracies initiated first in Korea as the imperialist powers openly admitted that they were spending more than 100,000,000 dollars on attempting to destroy the socialist Soviet Union and People's Democracies of Europe and Asia, flaunting their atomic weapons and preparing for another world war. Against this dangerous warmongering trend spearheaded by the bourgeoisie of the imperialist countries, the Soviet Union headed the movement for peace, calling on the peoples of all lands to reject the war plans and defend the peace for which millions died during the previous war.

Did they though? They successfully stirred the revolutions of China, Vietnam, Cuba, North Korea and many others who still live on today. The USSR may have been illegally dissolved but the ideas live on and continue to grow more potent each year as new revolutions form. Capitalism will collapse as predicted, it is up to all of us if it will turn backwards to barbarism or forward to socialism. I know which side I am willing to fight for, and it isn't Barbarism.
