V10E9: From Medicine Bow to Malheur

After a brief hiatus, I travel north into Wyoming with a friend. We explore Medicine Bow National Forest, and enjoy some treasured destinations and remote backcountry camping. Deadfall poses challenges throughout the week, and the winch gets put to use in deep mud. An appointment in the Pacific Northwest takes me to Oregon, where I explore Malheur National Forest. During the long westward drive, I reflect upon vehicle recovery, and consider different campers. A minor issue causes the Jeep to go into limp mode, and the week concludes in Prairie City.

White Mountain Yotas - Lol was thinking the same thing. Also was like dang Chris seems like the type of fellow to be super prepared and cautious but he was out there cutting those trees with a little pruning saw and throwing the wood around without Gloves. Tough but Tired business for sure.

LOL. I'm not going to lie made me crack a smile. I don't remember what episode but it was after he got the winch and he turned around at some mud once I was yelling to my laptop screen lol. I love this channel and love the ethos and totally get that Chris is driving his house and not a beater. But he still tuns around too much for my liking. I have lived out of my truck and been in the middle of nowhere in Mexico so I get the feels but I still push on at least once in awhile through some challenges.

Hey Chris, greetings from Toronto! Glad to hear you found companionship and someone to share your passion with. Don’t listen to anything of the adolescent commenters, and keep your and your lady friend’s privacy as long as you want. I don’t feel any need to know who she is or what she looks like, unless of course she wants to be public. Happy travels, mate, and keep on sharing.

I think the addition of a snatch block, if you don’t have one would make clearing those dead falls easier. You could use it in combination with your winch to pull it perpendicular to the trail and off further onto the side of the trail. I find it easier anyway.
