Quick tip from personal experience with ultrasonic cleaner which I believe it will make a lot of difference: boil water with the kettle and pour it inside the main bath - (don’t expect those “home use” ultrasonic cleaners to heat up), place the parts in poly bags mixed with water and cleaning liquid ( you don’t waste too much cleaning liquid and you achieve better result). Keep up the good work, greetings from Greece!

1. I knew you must have had a huge heater because you were getting some serious mirage in some of those scenes. 2. Now that I know how time consuming it is to clean every single nut and bolt, I'm going to stop asking myself why the videos take so long. 3. After I thought about it I decided that part of what I like about your channel is that you don't over saturate with content. Each video is slick and well crafted and the time between videos keeps me hanging for more. It also feels more episodic which is so important. Ultrasonic cleaner can easily handle the pistons - I've used it during my m54 rebuild project. The trick is to crank the temperature all the way up and add a couple of drops of a dedicated, aluminium safe cleaning agent. Trust me, 95 degrees C is nothing for the metal or the coating, but just enough to soften the carbon buildup. I used it pretty much for everything - pistons, rods, oil pump housing and the internal parts, oil squirters, disassembled lifters, bolts etc. Didn't damage anything, the parts looked brand spanking new.

@Marus1233
@Marus1233 Жыл бұрын
@@M539Restorations maybe, but after watching your video again I'm starting to think that in my case the carbon was simply much softer and easier to remove. Maybe it has something to do with the fact that my engine (as almost every m54) was burning oil, so the pistons were soaked regularly, or yours ran hot on the hydrogen.
