This week kicks off in Bisbee, Arizona - one of our favorite places to visit. After a quick stop in Lowell, I take the Land Rover Defender 110 Hi-Cap into Coronado National Forest to do some exploring and discover some hidden gems along the way. Swimming holes, ruins, historical landmarks, and some gorgeous campsites. Following a visit to Patagonia, Arizona, for some coffee and breakfast, I talk a little more about the aluminum Zarges K470 boxes.

I’ve found myself drifting away from some of the overland channels I used to watch, but really appreciate the evolution here...different vehicles, new interpersonal dynamics, and even a new voice narrating at times. Very enjoyable.

Take whatever future contributions you may have and use them for your own adventures or pursuits. Watching his videos, letting the ads play, and giving a like will still be helping him and his channel without a financial contribution on your end.

The Defender is such a welcome and striking contrast to what folks are clamoring for these days; Jeeps, 4Runners, Tacomas, and the new Bronco. Add the Arizona landscape and this was just a fantastic episode.

Some of my favorite memories growing up revolve around a Toyota BJ-40 my dad had when we lived in Panama and a 1983 Jeep CJ-7 my uncle had on his ranch near Corona, New Mexico. Neither were fast, they just got the job done.

I just ran across your channel, and this is the first video I've watched. The places you went are literally my old stomping grounds, so to speak. When I was kid, we lived in Patagonia. Where you were outside Bisbee, in Lowell, there is a really good diner to eat at. I've hiked, hunted, 4WD'd, and drilled water wells all over that area. Moved away just over 20 years ago, but most of my family is still around there, so I get back a couple times a year, or so. February is highly unpredictable. You can have summer type weather, or winter on any given day. I've seen it snow 4 to 6 inches in April, even. Oh yeah, my sister's father-in-law went to that Lochiel schoolhouse as a student when he was little.

Godspeed, just found your channel a few days ago while researching the Ursa Minor j30. I’m going to order a pre-production for my 2021 Bronco because of your channel. But, I have to say…I love the channel and more importantly my wife does too…which is great that we share things we both enjoy. We have both concluded you are the Bob Ross of overlanding and/or off road sight-seeing and I’ve bindged every video I could in the last few days. I’ve had all my my boys watch your videos from the Maine North Woods. Because we’ve stayed at the same camp spot years ago in the Allagash. I was surprised you didn’t stop at Pittson Farm in Rockwood ME. It was Heart breaking to see you drop the Jeep on its side….I know it’s old video, but damn. Nonetheless, I knew you’d be fine and I’ll keep watching. If you’re ever in the Northern MA Coastal area let me know. We will treat you to a beautiful meal in Newburyport or somewhere local on our way back to Greenville, ME

Starting@ 11:39 thru 12:22 and beyond is one of the main reasons I like your channel. The camera at near ground level driving down the dirt path, the view of the road ahead while watching the Rover rattle about, spotting something new that quit working on the Defender (driver's side tail light), listening to the wind - it all makes for a very enjoyable time watching you traveling about. Thanks!

Chris, really great choice with the 110. I think that you should consider getting a topper made for the bed, the soft canvas rib type. add some foam board type insulation on the bottom and sides, and you have a pretty nice little camper. it would give you about the same or more protection from the elements as a ground tent, with the benefit of you know, not being on the ground! still light and not permanent.

Chris, ( this is not an ad, just a love of my canvas 10x10 tent) I like all the vehicles you use, and the camping gear you use except for the dome tent. We had nylon,or whatever they make them out of dome tent, but have moved to a Kodak canvas tent as we don’t wake up cold and clammy anymore as the cavas breathes, and we have been thru 40 mph gusting monsoon winds for hours with no problems. They stay warm at night and comfortable in the heat. Nelson in Maine

Pretty much every British automobile ever made have reputations for being unreliable. Some are expensive vehicles as well as pricy to keep on the road. Ask any owner of a vintage Jaguar. LR's are the same, though maybe a touch more reliable. Is why I cringed when Chris announced he was buying this.

Well, because I used to live there, I can see you were in the San Rafael Valley on the west side of the Huachuca mountains in Southeastern Arizona. Pretty sure ghost town was Sunnyside looked very familiar, and Lochiel is a super gem--right down at the border! When I lived there in the 80s there was an international border crossing at that point and I doubt that it is still there as a possibility. Went across it many times in my Scout 800 into Sonora Mexico.
