Chris, I appreciate the Taco Bell vs. McDonald’s analysis at the beginning on this video. You can’t get that kind of content on any other overlanding YT channel. This is why I subscribe.

Definitely the Bell. I love a great burger but a burrito is excellent road trip food.

I just spent almost the entire day working and doing yard work. It’s very relaxing to watch a new episode of Venture4WD after a long day. I much rather have been exploring trails up in the cooler pines of Arizona than sweating it out here in a very humid part of Texas. And Taco Bell over McD’s. Although I’d rather have McDonald’s breakfast and coffee than T-Bell’s.

Very nice. Thank you! As a kid we would drive across I-40 and as soon as we hit Albuquerque a required stop was at Taco Bell, at the time the most eastern restaurant in the country... :) I know generally where you were. It's a great area although I havent explored that area in a few...decades?! (I guess we'll have to join your Patreon now-finally) Keep working your way Southeast towards the Rim road area too. We were exploring north of the Rim road this last weekend in our Revel. It's also a beautiful area. Some areas are heavily used, but you dont have to go far to be far from others on roads less traveled. Keep on exploring. Safe travels.

I am now used to the newer format of transitioning back and forth from Jeep to van - van to Jeep. It's a nice varied, vicarious experience. And the 'solo adventurer' aspect makes it even better (for me, anyway). All the best!

Chris, where is your chainsaw? I used to carry my Stihl gas powered chainsaw EVERYWHERE in northern Michigan, and I used it quite often. Then I (had grandkids and) switched over to using an electric battery powered chainsaw (DeWalt), and carry a couple of extra batteries in my Jeep (which I keep charged via the onboard electric output). With all my recovery gear I'm (relatively) unstoppable!

Taco Bell. Most healthy out of the two pending on what you get. I have not eaten at McDonald’s in almost two decades. Only thing I go there for is plain bisects and coffee when I’m on the road and have no other option.

Nice area. We have similar escapes here in Colorado. If it's 100+ down here, it's 70 in Leadville! I occasionally eat Taco Bell (mainly Breakfast), but McD's has nearly perfected the French Fry.

I haven't had a taco bell in close to 30 years but the last time I had it it was really good. I'm kinda partial to Mcdonald's since I work there but I only eat there once a week and that's on my meal break otherwise I don't go there to eat it tastes good and all but I try and not to eat too much of it.

That tree across the road would have been no problem for me, as I carry a small Husqvarna chainsaw in my two-door Jeep Rubicon which I have cut many trees like that and larger here in the mountains of Oregon. In fact, we have so many trees that blowdown particularly in the winter months that you would not be able to travel very far on these logging roads if you did not carry a chainsaw and constantly clear roads.

Anyone who is coming to the Lower Northern Pennisula of Michigan there are EXTREME FIRE WARNINGS POSTED. Crawford County, Michigan has a forest fire south of Grayling, Michigan. That fire is 90% contained, as of now 3600 acres are burned. Careless camper on private property is said to be responsible. We haven't had rain in six weeks and none in sight for the next ten days. Please be careful with camp fires anywhere you go. Thanks, Be Safe

I hear it's a lot healthier than McDonald's. So I'd probably do TB. Thanks again for another great video. Hi to Shannon. ❤❤

Well considering the last time I thought I’d save some money and go to Taco Bell. It was $50 for two of us to eat and we didn’t get any beverages. Therefore if I have to go with fast food I’ll get a cheeseburger from McDonald’s because it’s the most economical thing to get but I’d much rather just pull over stop and cook something from scratch.

Our local McDonalds is always out of something or a piece of equipment isn’t working thus we’ve abandoned it for good… Taco Bell occasionally, however whatever oil they utilize tends to disagree with my tummy… Hummm, no good in stock or take a chance on tummy issues. I’ll go with Taco Bell, at least I can eat as opposed to staring at an empty menu… Chris it appears you’re happy having a place to call home. When’s Shannon going to come along?

Taco Bell all day long. Never been a big fan of Mickey D’s. I only go there when traveling and there’s nothing else around that I know or maybe for quick breakfast. You can usually count on their food to be good quality everywhere. Late 60’s I work north Santa Barbara (everything around there is $$$$) and Taco Bell was a co-worker and myself’s go-to lunch place. Back then the Green Burrito was the best bang for your buck at $.50. Two Green Burritos and a soft drink almost daily. Even though there’s one within 15 miles I don’t think I’ve been to a Taco in 20 years. Funny for someone nicknamed Taco. “Heeere Leezerd Leezerd……” Lol

The one that came originally with the Revel was huge and heavy, took up the entire large drawer in the kitchen. Shannon immediately swapped it out for the smaller, MUCH lighter and easier to manage one you see here. I believe she purchased from Amazon, but it’s been a couple of years.

Still confused as to why you don't carry at least an electric chain saw? Even if just for emergencies. What if a sudden storm shows up and you end up stranded on a track with a tree, or multiple trees down? All that preparation and yet none for this very likely scenario.

I’d go to Taco Bell, but they’ll be out of business soon enough. Every time I stop at one they’re out of something like lettuce, chicken, nacho fries and Dorito shells. I think that leads to less return customers which will eventually lead to their demise. Given the choice of only those two, I’d be skinnier though…..
