This week, my attention turns to the Jeep, as I take it to Summit Jeep Company in Prescott, Arizona, for some expert service. After the team at Summit tackles my long checklist of repair items, I travel east into Prescott National Forest where I brace myself for the coming snow storm. Things get interesting, as more snow falls than expected!

3 things I noticed in this video. 1. If I find myself ever in the area in need of work, I will certainly take my Jeep to Summit. It was very cool of them to let you film, camp out in the parking lot and cook. 2. Glad to see you're still carrying around the trash from last episode to cover your food. 3. You can't seem to get away from using the portable toilet as a table top. :)

Chris what I find works for that jacket is use it as a middle layer instead of an outer layer. I tend to use a thin good quality water proof layer for outer. Then you can swap the middle layer out at will depending on the weather conditions. Anywho just my two cents.
@cliffmorgan31
@cliffmorgan31 5 жыл бұрын
Yes. TOUGH thin outer shell to protect the that down middle layer. One that won’t melt with sparks from a campfire, and is snag/tear resistant. With chest and hand pockets, minimum. Also need a waterproof outer shell with hood for rainy days. Might find one to do both, but I would have two different ones great at what that need is.

Great video Chris, I have a Nephew that lives there and he said they got 15+ inches but it’s always so beautiful after its done and the clouds part way to Sun. BTW i had my Jeep up to the bumper on a Colorado Camp/Trail in snow and made it out just fine, i was more worried about what’s underneath the snow than the capability of the Jeep. Ha!

Good call staying right there because you might be in place for awhile.This snow is so unusually heavy. We got over 2 feet in Strawberry and people off the main road are still locked in today, no cars on the roads. If this stuff is higher than your hubs you're stuck, we're all stuck. So pretty but dangerous. It collapsed a steel awning with I beams and almost destroyed my Toyota (posted a vid) yesterday. Good luck man I hope you get out without too much difficulty.

Chis, have you checked out Bartlett Lake in AZ yet? It is just a couple of hours away from you and it’s a world away weather wise. There is a well known wash there that intersects the road leading to the lake that runs down to the Verde River. Calling it amazing is an understatement. I should add though that the last time I was there was in 1996....

Looks like a good jeep shop. Driving through heavy wet snow is a lot tougher than same amount of powder. Good call on your part as I don't think you carry chains. Something that I've been meaning to mention to you for a while to make camp a bit more livable. Have you considered getting a nylon tarp 10 X 10 or 12 to string up over picnic tables? Not much space taken up and gets you out of the jeep in rain and snow. Good video as usual. Looking forward to the next.

and consider getting a dji spark to start off man... exploring and stuff and even that boring time spent in the jeep u can fly the spark while u sit cozy in the warm jeep, and have some fun and actually take and record some awesome video footage and pictures of course.. and at a perspective u never would have been able to get before.. plus honestly its addicting and really fun, and will totally step your vlogs to the next level, and can use it to make some money on the side as well... get a dji drone... you will love it!!

Did Summit Jeep actually take the sway bar completely apart and clean out the gears, remove and clean any rust and add some fresh grease?? If not then I suggest doing that too. Also did they connect up the actuator motor by itself and engage with the button to see if it moves as it should?? If not then take these steps to find out before replacing with other options and even a new sway bar altogether. I just did my sway bar on my 2014 rubicon last week

Regarding the metallic squeak noise, does it start or stop when you apply the brakes lightly? The rear brake pads on my 2018 GMC Canyon sound just like that when driving on unpaved roads. The only solution has been to apply brake specific lube to the backs of the pads. This cures the squeak for months at a time. It's worth looking into as I learned about it on other vehicle forums. Might check the Jeep forums as well.
