Smart move is to sit back a bit so you have room to wind up a bit of speed and then you are not sitting out in the overtaking lane for half the distance getting some speed up, rather you pull out and cruise past. Not practiced very often nowadays thanks to lack of experience/skill from our modern auto box steerers who like sniffing your back bumper and then flicking out and just sitting there expecting a B Double to accelerate like a car.

That's the best way to do it, I had a 95 Dodge 3/4 ton 2wd 12 valve 5 speed and I had turned her up quite a bit, and if I was gonna pass someone on 2 lane highway I'd fall back a little and ease into it until I had about 8 pounds of manifold pressure then I'd lay it to her, she'd jump up to about 40 pounds of manifold pressure instantaneously and she'd be off like a rocket, up to 87mph at least, she had the power just not enough gears to run faster. I loved how that truck ran, passin people on the highway she'd blow one decent sized puff of smoke then clean up to just a light haze.

2 strokes sound awesome but I think the big v8 4 strokes sound good but small ones sound a bit annoying especially some cars
