Holy Jesus... That is the best sounding (and only) 540 I've ever heard. Ya'll weren't kidding when you said V8 Sound From Hell. I can only imagine how much better it sounded in person than even through the camera.

Why is that. In this age, we have the baddest hot rods ever. Cars are way faster. You couldn't get 485 horses in 69, let alone get more than 6 mpg at the same time. This a new golden era

Lol... whut? A new Dodge Caravan will blow a stock ‘69 Camaro with a 327 off the line and probably out handle it too. A modern four cylinder Camaro will blow away all but a handful of top spec V8 Camaros made in the 20th century. A top spec Camaro today is hanging with Porches and Lamborghinis at the Nurburgring.. never mind being a one trick pony out of steam at 100 MPH because of a three speed slush box and a 4:10 rear end. No... regardless of what any old fart says, this is the best generation. Best thing is, we can have this old stuff too... and there is far more information and parts available now than there ever was in the 60s and 70s.

born 1991 if we share the same generation then i disagree . i do agree old school muscle is better and today more expensive . but today you get choices and junkyards full of cheap v8s and even v10 is if your lucky id argue my generation is in a new golden era of hot roding. today you can go with a new fuel injected small or short block or old school big or small block carb the only real problem is price . junkyards are full of trucks and vans with these big motors. back then you had the choice between big and small up until the 70s when emissions killed cars but todays cars have finally gone past what old school could do in power. looks is a diferent story and why i drive a last gen ta. if thats not enough you have the internet and sites like summit and jegs i love this generation. the new cars might not be as sexy true but you got more options if you choose to go old school

I have the identical engine in a 1972 Chevelle; yeah, it's thirsty. 7mpg but I drive it 1000 miles or less in a year's time so who cares other than AOC. Has that same nasty lope that every gearhead loves. Yeah, it's fast but not ridiculously fast. 10:1 compression street engine, designed to run cool all day on premium unleaded.

Marcus Johnson they sell 540 badges and individual numbers, but personally, I would’ve put a 305 badge on the fender, just to mess with people. That’s what my plan is when I’m putting the finishing touches on my corvette.

Beautiful car. Looks like you probably have about $ 60,000 invested in this Camaro. The color is amazing too. I’ve owned three Camaros in my life, 1972 and a 1997 Z 28 convertible and a 2010 Camaro RS SS . My 72 Camaro Had a big block 396, 375 HP out of a 1967 Chevelle. Yes I built a 396 from scratch . I love the sound of big block engines. My 2010 takes care of Business.

To put into perspective, each cylinder has a capacity of 1.1L. One cylinder is bigger than the entire engine of alot of euroboxes.

Kai Engstrom, I was totally kidding about the marriage thing! But on a serious note, I'm wondering what kind of tranny set up do you have? I had an M22 under a spring loaded Hurst shifter in my '68 Camaro. I did see your reply to a question about the exhaust below & thank you for that! I had 'Cherry Bomb' mufflers with the 3 inch pipes all the way back to the rear bumper & yes, I was on a first name basis with the local PoPo! This was circa 1978-1980 so very much OG! I've also always been a small block girl. My Camaro had a 350 popped 30 over with 12: 1 pistons & a {then called} full inch lift cam! 12 bolt posi with 4:11s in the rear so great off the line, but screwed in the real estate department! A nearly head on collision with a 4X4 Ford pickup on Oct. 29, 1980 put an end to that era! Thank you again for sharing the goodness of this beautiful car with the rest of us! Rock on!

What mufflers are on the car? I have a '70 Nova with a pump gas 540" Dart block motor. With the Super 44's it's awfully loud! I have a 02 Camaro w/a built LS and some small, round stainless mufflers that aren't quite as bad, especially inside the car! Beautiful car btw, well done!! Other than a 325/50 and tightly tucked cage, the car retains the bench seat, stock interior, trunk, gas tank and looks like a stock-ish show car....definately not on the light side!

@@kaiengstrom2182, sounds awesome! The sound of the Flowmasters has just gotten old, obnoxious...or maybe I've gotten old! Your car sounds very nice though! May try the Borlas. My system is 3.5", X pipe, and dumped at the rear.

@@bbdetailing9123 , yeah definitely! I pulled a pair of mufflers off of a system I built for a Trailblazer SS I had to get something quieter! I ended up using Spintechs, which sounded great!

15" is correct proper and just fine. It's the tire/wheel package that fills the wheel well correctly, not the wheel by itself.

I have no idea how I came across this but let it be known that I had a 632 built on a Merlin block. It is now sitting in my backyard with a split down the middle thanks to a shitload of nitrous. Don't get me wrong tho, it was a 15 year old block so it did its job very well.
