I miss these days so dearly. It's such a shame that we will never be able to recreate this era of V8 Supercars ever again

So many good memories with the Channel 10 intro's brings me right back to my childhood. The music always got me pumped and ready to watch V8 Supercars with my dad.

The 2003 intro was also used for the Australian release of Toca Race Driver 2 (called V8 Supercars 2 in Australia.)

Back when ten was the home of motorsport. You heard this banging tune and knew something good was coming your way. Cart? F1? MotoGP? V8s? Didn't matter!

Sorry for the long comment here, but that very iconic rock riff bring out the little kid in me. I remember this back when Craig Lowndes was driving for Ford, and Mark Skaife was driving for Holden, and every single race was gripping, and when Bathurst hit, it was long but exciting. Around the same time I would watch Formula 1 with my dad which at that time it was the V10 era with some including Michael Schumacher and Rubens Barichello driving for Ferrari, Mikka Hakkinen and David Coulthard racing for McLaren, Eddie Irvine and Pedro De La Rosa Driving for Jaguar, and many other extremely iconic pairings. I sadly don't watch the V8 Supercars anymore, and pretty much started to watch it alot less when Craig Lowndes went to Holden, since then I ended up moving closer to Formula 1 which despite my gripes with the sport in it's current form, it's still gripping to watch an F1 race, even if Looser Hamiltion wins nearly every race. But man, does that iconic rock riff really hit me hard in the feels, Rest In Peace to the era of V8 Supercars that I grew up with.

This is what I grew up on with my Dad in the 90s with all daughters. We were taught to love the Bathurst 1000 and love our Holden's.

When did V8 Supercars aired on Channel 5 in the UK?
@markgriffin92303 жыл бұрын
@@nicksamonthree2306 2002 Is when i first saw it on there. From 02 onwards I watched it more on MotorsTV on SKY as it became full race coverage on there, but I'd still watch Channel 5's if I missed something.

I like the version of the song used for the 1997 and 1998 intros.
@sgtepicspeed30337 жыл бұрын
2004 Actually had two different intros. At one point later in the season the intro would be similar to 2005-2006.
@Mullet3454 жыл бұрын
I'm pretty sure they changed the intro in 2004 from Bathurst onwards. Not sure why they chose to do so as they could've saved the intro change for 2005.
@sgtepicspeed30334 жыл бұрын
@@Mullet345 2004 seemed to be a year of transition in terms of presentation. Albert Park still had the 2002-2003 Graphics (Slightly modified version of 1999-2001 graphics), then changed by Adelaide, but graphic animations were not dynamic. And as the season went on, the graphics presentation and dynamics started to improve more, including the intro. Actually the intro used Bathurst was still different to the one used from Tasmania and Eastern Creek. Even that was slightly different to 2005-06.
