just a short look at my V977 CNC aluminum upgrade kit from BG. I read a LOT of comments on forums that this kit does NOT work. I am not a the point of being able to install it yet.
But yes, it is true - it would not have worked out of the bag. But contrary to certain other people I consider it legit that if you pay only 20% of what an equal "brand name" kit would cost (completely ignoring the fact that for the "brand name" manufacturers the WLToys V977 seems to be not worthy enough to make parts for) then it is to be taken into account that there might be a need for "modding" the upgrade kit to make it work.
And that is what I am doing. So far, the main points of complaints are "remedied".
As can be seen in the video, after about 45min of sanding and the exchange of 2 ball links, everything works the way it is supposed to be. My advice "if you dont want to 'fix' the parts in case they might not work, do NOT purchase this kit" It is only for people who are willing to put some elbow grease in to make it work if necessary!

I'm staying away from metal parts, they will shift the force in a crash into the servos... All I did with mine was carbon fiber shaft with plastic collar to reduce weight, added heatsink+carbon fiber tail fin to the rear (sick of breaking the flimsy plastic tail fin) and 520mAh battery upgrade for slightly longer flights. Flies great too.

Sure, I know ALL the "good advice from the anti-bling-federation" :D - I heard it about a million times in the last several years. But you know what, in this particular case (and several others) I really dont care. I do not intend to fly 3D with this kit on (I'll probably NEVER fly 3D in my life ...) and all that I want to do (and can do based on my skills) when this kit is installed, the arguments from the anti-bling-federation are pretty much irrelevant. I only do this because I can and to proof the point that it is possible to get this kit to work (as you may know, it has a reputation of being non-functional/defective ... and taking it out of the bag it actually IS - it takes way more effort than justifiable to make this kit work ... but its possible and THAT is what I want to show. And no matter what everybody else says - it just LOOKS sooo much cooler than the stock stuff ...

helideluxe2010 rofl I'm far from anti-bling, I just don't like heavy rigid parts making my repairs more expensive that's all... My V977 has green blades, tail rotor and metal heatsink. As for the Metal parts, they are the same as the V911, they need a little work before they can be utilized, but it's better than machining your own parts from scratch.

Kanari Mentos I doubt that the kit was literally tested before marketing (ie have people who are not employed by the company install the stuff and evaluate it ...) or maybe the reviewers get other parts then are finally sold, who knows. I dont think however that it was originally NOT made for the V977. I am pretty certain, it was SPECIFICALLY made for the V977.Anyway, it is obvious right from taking the kit out of the bag, that it will be necessary to "work on it" to assure that it will work once it is installed in the heli. But I also think, that has to be expected if you only pay 20$ for something that Lynx, Microheli or Rakon will charge you about 100$ for ...

its all in the video description. I still have to "dedicate" some time to the rotor head. I also have read that it is too wide and the feathering shaft will be too short, that the blade grips will not move freely a lot of stuff. I will hopefully get to the rotor head over the weekend ...
