Virginia State Route 7 (VA 7) is a major primary state highway and busy commuter route in northern Virginia, United States. It travels southeast from downtown Winchester to SR 400 (Washington Street) in downtown Alexandria. Its route largely parallels those of the Washington & Old Dominion Trail (W&OD Trail) and the Potomac River. Between its western terminus and Interstate 395 (I-395), SR 7 is part of the National Highway System. In 1968, the Virginia State Highway Commission designated the road as the "Harry Flood Byrd Highway" between Alexandria and Winchester to commemorate Harry F. Byrd Sr. (1887-1966).

I left Northern Virginia in 2005 I visited years later. The roads were so much different. Route 28 was all traffic lights now there is exit ramps. I used to hang out at Fridays in Tysons in the 90s over at that building with the big circle in front, then drive to DC NW to the clubs, we calked it downtown back then.

I remember driving through towns on 7 to get to Sterling, then Leesburg then head to my parents house in Herndon when they owned a home there since 1992 to 2004 😢

The issue elsewhere is the Height Act - restricts height of buildings a certain distance from the Washington Monument - and has nothing to do with aircraft, as it dates back to 1803! It does not apply to Tysons, as it is outside the restrictions imposed by the Height Act. (Let me guess - you want to bring Tysons inside the Height Act restrictions; then you need a new Height Act. The Height Act is a classic example of bureaucratic overreach - reminds me of the Lighting Regulation - which was supposed to apply ONLY to incandescent lighting purchased under government contract - but wound up applying everywhere - and singlehandedly kiled incandescent lighting throughout the US - specifically GE Lighting - unlikely headquarters - Winchester VA - no; I was NOT aware of that stupidity at the time.) President Trump WAS made aware of it - which is why he appointed Rick Perry (and those of like mind) as Cabinet Secretaries to go through the regulatory forest with fine-tootled combs looking for such nimbnull regulatory nitwiteracy (yes - it sounds like something from "Coneheads" - on purpose - that's where I stole the phraseology - the movie - not the SNL scripts).
