How would mobility rating work with sprained ankles (instability)? I've rolled and sprained my ankles so many times in the military I can pretty much walk on the sides of my feet, so I don't know if that's considered "limiting" my mobility.

I have Chronic Regional Pain Syndrome in my Left Ankle that includes my tibia, fibula, ankle joints , calcaneus and Achilles tendon shortening with nerve disorder. Which causes it to catch and causes great pain. My ankle swells a lot. Standing for long and walking for distance makes it worse. I do have some limited range of motion. My VA doctor is not the one who has diagnosed this. I had multiple images and emg done. What is your advice? I'm already 70% service connected for PTSD but nothing else. I also fell while getting treatment for my PTSD and injured my back.

I was rated 10% for right ankle after my injury when I was deployed. I have been having a hard time walking sometimes and always rolling over the years I got use to it. Until I had enough of it so I got it check and ended up getting a surgery for it. Come to find out I tore 2 of my ligaments. What kind of claim should I file to get an increase

I’m in the same boat! Injured my ankle 2 torn ligaments and now I’m getting therapy with ankle brace. Next step is surgery. I do have a rate of 10% , but still am having same symptoms that you have experienced.

If I am rated for the right lower extremity, and having had surgery on my right ankle due to torn ligaments, how do I get service connections? During the recuperation period from ankle surgery, I was homebound, but it was denied because my ankle is not considered as service-connected. Can you advise as to what my next step would be? Thank you so much and I appreciate your assistance.

The issue we may all have is how to link it to our service. I was diagnosed with Achilles tendonitis at premob here it is years later and now I'm having issues walking especially going down steps early morning. How do I explain this while I file for a new claim. Which brings up my next question. Can I put in for a new claim if I'm in the middle of a higher-level review for a previous claim?

I had a complete achilles rupture/tear right before I was going to receive my ratings. So they went back and scheduled a C&P exam 3 WEEKS after my surgery. I still had a walking boot and crutches. Luckily I was able to be evaluated still. My active ROM in plantar flexion was 40 degrees and my active ROM in dorsiflexion was 15 degrees. ROM during flare up in plantar flexion was 35 and 10 in dorsiflexion. However, they marked no for signs of ankylosis. What rating would you guesstimate I'm going to receive?

What if I have ankle instability in both my ankles? I'm trying to understand how Bilateral impacts rating.
@robertseabron1162
@robertseabron1162 Жыл бұрын
If they rate both ankles, they can be individually or bilatelly. That depends on what the rater decides. Bilateral would add 10% to the rating. However, you'd get more overall percentage points if they are separate.

My confusion lies with the ankle measurement with the goniometer. Why is the va rating higher for more flex instead of rating higher for less flex. Its backwards. Unless the va is not starting from a position of zero with the bottom of the heel being perpendicular to the leg. Because normal plantar is 45-50⁰, where is if you have a disability, then its clearly going to be 30⁰-ish due to lack of movement which is a lower rating. They are rating higher for a higher degree of movement and rating less for a lesser degree of movement. Makes no sense

Can you be rated for instability, arthritis, and tendinitis all at the same time? Each one rated at 20%?
@robertseabron1162
@robertseabron1162 Жыл бұрын
I believe they would combine any combination of those into one and give rating that fits all that the evidence supports.

@@robertseabron1162 9 months later, I got a decisions. In each of my knees I was rated at 10% for arthritis and 10% for radiculopathy. That’s 30% total using VA math.
