I recently opened a claim in VA Providence that was denied for depression an anxiety. I had gotten wrong information from VA downtown an claim ran out of time on appeal. Since than my VA doctor gave me a letter stating I have PTSD. I opened a new claim. My question is should have the DAV added all my records in the new claim. I received a letter from VA an it basically states more information will follow. I have ton of treatment records going back to 86. Put a request in for Butler hospital records was told they were on microfiche. Will see what happens there also requested records from Fuller memorial hospital an the IMH in Cranston was told early 80s was to long ago. My case is a military sexual trauma an a serious beating by German police in Stuttgart Germany . Unfortunately neither Incident was ever reported.

I was in a unit that was deployed to multiple imminent danger areas. JRSSC couldn't find records of my deployments so the stressors I pointed out weren't used in my ptsd assessment. VA doctors diagnosed me with ptsd, mdd, and adjustment disorder. I'm still being treated....

@@daveb2280 that's what i don't understand. All of the medals are there and my pay records should also show periods of imminent danger pay. I think because of how my unit was attached to conventional unit for admin, the deployments to hostile areas wouldn't show up in admin unit's history. Waiting on RAMP appeal since late Oct. Ebennies is useless for me.

I would like to thank you for this great information. This is what I am dealing with: Stage 4 lymphoma cancer. Ulcerative Colitis. Kidney Problems/stones - denied by BayPines VA....... Tinnitus - denied by BayPines VA........ Bladder Problems. Epigastric Pain. Peptic Ulcer Disease. Bleeding from rectum. Left Shoulder - denied by BayPines VA...... Left Knee. Lower back. PTSD/Mental Health Depression - denied by BayPines VA....... Sleeping problems. This is what my rating letter said: We determined that the following conditions were not related to your military service, so service connection remains denied. It is unbelievable what the so called government does to its veterans and the VA.

I HAVE A QUESTION: Hi I'm an Air Force vet. Im currently in the process for filing for disability. I was diagnosed with 3 mental disorders coming out of my c&p exam. You're saying the VA will give me a combined rating for each mental disorder? Meaning each mental disorder gets a rating and they're all added together for 1 combined rating?
@CCK_Law
@CCK_Law 5 жыл бұрын
@Corey Blyther, since all mental health conditions are evaluated using the same criteria, veterans with multiple mental health conditions will likely be assigned one combined rating that takes into account all of the symptoms they are experiencing as a result of each condition. With that being said, veterans do not need to submit a separate claim for each mental health condition

What are some secondary service connected disabilities associated with depression?
@erikipf
@erikipf Жыл бұрын
It could be just about anything, Scott. Depression itself is a disability. Lethargy, too much sleep, not enough sleep, appetite, unreliable work behavior, inability to get out of bed, eating poorly, lack of ability to focus. I am in NO WAY any kind of professional... in ANY capacity, but that's what I've learned of secondary conditions of depression.

Does Bipolar and ADHD fall under Adjustment Disorders? Is Adjustment Disorder sort of an umbrella created to categorize a bunch of things together, and not treat them all individually? I've watched a couple dozen of your videos, and I'm watching more. Thank you. When it's time you'll get a call. I'm doing research because I've learned from you that I was not given a proper assessment for a knee injury. I have pain and range of motion issues that were never questioned. I never had a C&P in 2001, during application. But my question is regarding Adjustment Disorder. Is it an umbrella for a multitude of things, and do Bipolar & ADHD fall under that?

I was discharged a borderline disorder was put on dd214. In spring of 88. I have recently obtained psyc help at the VA, they are saying now ptsd based anxiety and depression. Also bordering in the autism spectrum, say they used to call it aspergers. I spent 9 days in hospital and immediately discharged after I have no memory of the hospital or being discharged . Does this new diagnosis help me. I've been unemployed a year now ,first time ever, and definitely spiraling out of control. I've talked to half a dozen lawyers that do this stuff that haven't taken me on because of the borderline personality disorder that my psycolagist says now I never had, and there is nothing in my folder that says I ever saw anyone that could make the diagnosis. I stay to confused to keep it all in line, but trying to work through the process anyhow. I've been stuck on this what happened for 30 years, and can't shake it. I'm told to just go on and live my life, but still stuck in that place. The only psychiatric help I've had till recently was in 88 ,by an outside doc that tried to pump me out to his rich friends. I reported it and disappeared off the radar for years. I don't trust any of them anymore. The only reason I'm letting anyone now in, is a ww2 vet that was taken prisoner at the battle of the bulge and held at dacaw sat at supper with me and told me all about me what I was thinking feeling and all. I'll always be thankfully for his friendship ,may god rest his soul. Don't know what I'm doing just doing. Just reacting to what is thrown at me. It don't feel any different than when my pregnant wife was killed in in the P.I during the Marcos elections I got him and I've paid for it ever since.

hey, you said psychologist. is that a counselor? or did you see a psychiatrist, a psychiatric medicine manager? make sure you know the difference when talking to important people. they will pick apart what you say. do you take meds for your bpd? if you refuse to see dr.s and dont get a medical record paper trail you wont get the help you need. if you really have bpd what is your goal? money, psychiatric help, or both. from what i read you suffered from this condition for a long time and didnt seek help for it. us people who suffer from psychiatric illnesses dont really care about the money. we care more about the treatment and symptoms being oppressed. all the money does for us is pay for our medical crap.. if you get awarded a rating for bpd would you seek treatment for bpd or live with it as is? even though you have bpd if you dont seek treatment for it that means it isnt debilitating on your everyday life and isnt warranted of a high rating.

psychologist supervised by psyciatrist. After a year seeing her determined no bpd. Just this past year. The bpd was determined in 1988 while in hospital 9 days immediately prior to my discharge. The determining doc by the records spent 1 hour for 2 days and determined bpd. I have no memory of the hospital stay or my discharge. The va sent me to a outsourced psyciatrist that tried to pump me out to some wealthy associates,so I avoided the va for decades. Couldn't keep a job working with a crew went to driving otr trucks and isolated till 2 years ago and cant drive no more, the adjustment pushed me to seek out help then. I have a question in regards to MST/Personal Assault. If a service member was falsely accused of Sexual Harassment and Sexual Assault. After further investigation from a CDI and a OSI investigation determined the allegations were unsubstantiated and false. Will the accused member be a candidate for MST as you are aware these investigations take sometimes 6months to a year. The accused is often treated as guilty from the start and often battling being seclusion from peers and events, battling the accusations and trying to speak to there innocence. Lastly, once the case is closed the members reputation will never be the same and forever tarnished leading to anxiety, depression, isolation, insomnia, nightmares and some form of PTSD as they relive the events of being investigated. I see nothing in the Va documents about something like this. Your insight would be amazing.

Mental health disability is such a strange concept. Imagine saying I am too sad (depressed) or anxious to do ANY work? That is counter-intuitive to recovery. No psychologist or psychiatrist worth their salt would encourage a person with mental illness to just check out of society and stay home.

No one is encouraging anyone to check out of society and stay home.. Who/what/where do you see anyone or anything encouraging anyone else to check out of society and stay home?
