People here in India are still selling their properties and land to reach Canada. Hence the situation is going to worsen. Fully agree with Mr. Gulati, you need to demonstrate your skill and need to perform the job. If the person on the other side feels that you are willing to do this job under pressure, he will never offer you a job.

I am a truck driver, i regularly take trips to montreal and quebec city like 3 times a week and trust me , there is a plethora of jobs in these region.... there are some small towns like butcherville, beirthville, laval etc....have a number of warehouses and they need people always to work in a factory.....so the jobs are there.... Also there is town near border of ontario and quebec called "cornwall".... such a amazing city with lot of jobs opportunities... But people from our india just don't want to move out of pind brampton because of the rishredaris, friends or enemies..... People just need get out of there comfort zone....

If you have the PR and are employed below your education level. There is a Canadian program for under-employed which pays your employer a substantial percent of your salary (up to some 80%) up to a year so that you can gain local experience. I would suggest that you should contact the Canada Employment office and get yourself qualified for the program. Once they qualify you for the assistance program, they will also try and place you with a company or you can then approach employers in your field. This is designed to mitigate the risk of the employer in hiring new employee without direct experience. Hope this helps some of you. Good luck. But don’t lose hope. Perseverance wins.

So if someone has left his/her job back home, the job obviosuly will not be waiting for him/her to join again. There are many things that a new immigrant has sacrificed which he will not get back. We have 2 jobs available in Newmarket Ontario. I tried to help students to give a job but the problem is language. That is first requirement. Other they come late. And they don't want to do anything. We tried many different people, and at the end we paid everyone for nothing

Mr Gulati is right you have to tailor your resume for each job. If a master degree student applies for restaurant job then employers would think that he is here for short time and will leave ones he gets job in his field. So they won't consider his resume

Biggest problem with new arrivals are their unrealistic expectations and dreams. Canadian Roads are not paved in gold. Why these new arrivals want to concentrate in Brampton and Surrey. That's the biggest problem. If these new arrivals go to Eastern Canada or Alberta or Manitoba, they will be better off. Good luck to new arrivals.
