The power ratings is MCU is all haywire. Ironman defeated Hulk fair and square in his hulkbuster suit but was beaten by Captain America. Strange put up a strong fight against Thanos, as you said, but got dusted easily by Maw. Vision was invented to be even more powerful than Ultron but in Infinity War he was a liability.

Marvel peaked at the first Avengers movie. The ones after that were mostly good, but honestly, it all went to shit after Endgame. Only GOTG 3 is good enough to survive the Endgame curse. (Personally, I believe Moonknight was also quite good, too.)

Fun fact, when I was younger, I met a guy named Thanos in Edinburgh during the Christmas holidays. He owned an ice-cream shop and hotel my family were staying in, above the shop, or to the right, not sure since it was a few years ago. My brother, mother and I got free ice-cream from him. He is the Thanos we needed all along. 😌🙏
