I have a sicon frs i changed the brake vacuum. 4 times and after its braking if you know that it may be from soothing else plese let me know brother i bought a new brake vacuum from subaru but it got brake and after im imstalling it when im touching the vaccum pump its really hot and idk if is that normal

I'm guessing it's powered by the lower cam-shaft?

What gasket maker did you use cause I replaced mine because I was leaking oil and had a knock but I used permatex and it leaks worse I got the one minute gasket maker but just wondering what you used and if you have a leak

Did you get any leaks or burning smell? I have these two signs on my frs and wondering if it might be vacuum pump. A lot of build up was removed. Thanks!

I have the same issue, leaks and burning smell. For me, it is the vacuum pump leaking oil and landing on the headers, which immediately burns the oil and smokes comes into the cabin.

No leaks or burning only a small ticking noise. Hard to describe since 90% of this engine is always ticking lol. This would be caused by the seal being worn down or degrading since it is only a silicone seal you should just be able to take it off and redo the seal though

Were you experiencing the knocking noise? Did it go away after you replaced it?

same like me after change the vaccum pump no more knocking noise.

Yeah small knocking noise but it shouldn’t be very noticeable. If you have a loud knocking noise then it is a bigger problem

Actually it supposed to apply rtv on the housing not at the pump. Because rtv needs to be on the groove of the housing.

I have a manual 2013 brz, I was just wondering if the pump would be located in the same spot as your frs?

Yes, same location might look different in shape
