In one easy to use motion it sucks, dampens, cleans and dries the floor with a super clean and walk on a minute later surface. Load up the tank with solution and water to make it ready is about all you have to do. The big tank setting will do our kitchen, dinning room, hallway and entry with no problems.We do a light vacuum or sweep first to get rid of the big stuff, but if you floor isn't that bad, you wouldn't have too. We have kids, dog, neighbor kids, and winter crud, so our floors are usually that bad. It will handle anything, but just gets dirty faster and more hair is why we might get the big stuff. We can do everything from pulling it out to sucking to cleaned up in about 30 minutes, so it makes it quick and easy. Biggest thing is the floors are pretty much dry after you move the vacuum over them. No tracking, waiting, or foot prints everywhere. Cleaning is easy with sink rinse and let it air out a bit to dry. 5 minutes to cleanup and set to dry.I give credit to my sister, as she is a professional clean freak and this is her baby with about 1,000 sft of floor that has to be cleaned. She LOVES this and that is why we now have one. Great buy!

I never had sand in my carpet as I only get dust. when vacuuming and again, no one wears shoes in the house to keep it as clean as possible.

If any of you guys go look at Vaclabs vacuum videos and Look at The Dyson DC14 sand in carpet test and baking soda in the carpet test . You guys will be shocked on how much better it did then the Dyson DC25 and DC65!

I still have my Miele vacuum cleaner, it may take more time to clean carpet, but we keep it well maintained by not wearing shoes in the house and I live in a pet free home. I wish I should have bought one with a rotating brush, but I didn't think a lot about that and that was three years ago. Thank god I didn't get another disown.

My cousin has a Panasonic vacuum and it is similar to ur Miele. But it is red and has a brush tool and crevice. And the dyson DC25 is better than DC14. I have a dc14 and it works fine. But it dosnt really pick up a lot of dust. I might need to clean filters.

I like dyson canisters, pretty decent. My mate has lifetime warranty on his. He dropped it down the stairs and dyson just gave him a brand new one. Handheld is really good too. BUTTTT, Although its a top performer, in terms of price to performance ratio, it isnt up there. 599 for a decent dyson is too pricey...

this is not a good comparison the mile you are using has no brush roll in it that is a hard floor tool on it. in order to clean the paper properly you need to use a miele power head.

You are using the wrong attachment on the Miele. The one you're using is for hardwood floors/rugs. The actual carpet brush attachment can be purchased separately. Not a fair comparison.

Richard Buxton, just because a machine isn't more than 900 watts doesn't mean to say it won't be as good as a more powerful 1. It will get manufacturers to invent new technology ie digital motors like dysons, better dust separation via cyclone technology. Soon a 900 watt will be like 1800 watts.
