Have to say, after years of working in detail shops, 90% of the time your just using a basic long wedge tool, any of those claw or large ones would simply loose too much power to be useable in any meaningful way.

Even with 250k+ subscribers, this channel is still underrated. My go to channel for years now, if I need information when ordering a vacuum or floor cleaner or just to keep track of development in the field. I have been following since the Roomba vs roborock sold me on the roborock. This channel is a breath of fresh air with all the objective testing. Keep going!

I appreciate the transparency you bring to this industry, but I strongly feel that it’s time for a repairability score to be integrated into your reviews - it could dramatically impact purchasing decisions for people. For example: the Metrovac was dinged for its high price - but the Metrovac seems to be the *only* company on this list that willingly and easily sells individual parts for repairs (motors, gaskets, switches, etc.) as opposed to whole modules or worse, dark patterns encouraging users to just “buy a new one”. The right for individuals and independent shops to repair products has been eroded year after year. I have to imagine there are other like-minded reviewers of the channel who would rather spend $[3X] on a vacuum once than $[X] every 3 years. All that said: Keep up the good work, your time spent and contributions to the space are not going unnoticed!

I always love your videos because of the mostly scientific method used. One thing I can't understand ithough, is why would you think a small portable vacuum would be better for car detailing? I prefer the big heavy one on wheels with a long hose so it could just stay behind me and roll around as I clean the car. Craftsman has an even more powerful six horsepower full size. I would love to see you test full-size wet vacuums next.

The only attachment that probably 90% of detailer use is the credos tool. The rest of the attachments are pretty much pointless, and it’s just way to time consuming to switch attachments all the time. If a brush is needed then it’s the crevice tool in one hand and a detailing brush in the other. If u were to test them in that sense I bet u would have slightly different results.

They're pretty much all junk. The battery dies so fast, and often they're not removable or replaceable. And they probably have even less suction than the handheld vacs in this video. I think a good option is if your home vacuum is battery powered and has a handheld mode, or one of those Shark liftaway designs that has a hose.

Can you review the Quantum X upright vacuum
@MaryB_TN
@MaryB_TN Жыл бұрын
Hi. I bought Quantum X a year and a half ago, so I can give you my opinion. I wanted a water filtration vacuum for 30 years. I saw a Rainbow demo and really liked the concept of water as a filter. When I saw an upright version from Quantum, I got it right away. At first....I was in love with it. It really does have powerful suction and picked up so much stuff. But it's not high quality. The cover on the back for the hose port has a rubber piece that broke right away. The hose attachments aren't easy to use. I gave up using attachments. It's very heavy. I can not carry it upstairs and downstairs...no carry handle to distribute the weight. So then I had to choose between keeping it upstairs where my floors are carpeted or down, where I have hardwood and tile. The water basin gets badly stained if you use their fragrances. A few times, it just stopped running, even though it was connected to power, and I had to put it upright, then try again. It's also rather awkward to push. There's no doubt it's a powerful vacuum, but I was very disappointed with it overall. I'm trying to sell it, in fact. I ended up getting the Sirena canister water filtration vacuum. All the features of the Rainbow but only 1/5th the cost. Never had a canister before, but I truly love it because it's SO versatile, can clean everything, has an air purification function, and has high-quality hoses, attachments, etc. Sirena also has a HEPA filter at the exhaust as a backup in addition to the water filtration so the air is super clean and purified. Quantum X doesn't have an air purification funtion. If you do try the Quantum X, you have to pay shipping if you decide to return it. Some people do love it, but not me, not anymore. I hope this helps.

Do you know if the Vacmaster beast or Craftsman HP 5Gal are available in the UK or EU under a different name? They only way I can get them is through amazon import at 2 or 3 times the price! Same with the ArmourAll. Are there other great EU / UK options given the pricing?

Seems KÄRCHER in the UK has a more extensive lineup; I use a WD5 with the optimal claw attachment as we have three cars to look after, but most people on the UK use a Henry vacuum, due to their long hose and high suction power, and they do car cleaning sets as well. I find the Dyson cordless vacuums too cumbersome, although i take the floor mats out and clean them with the torque drive head on m v15, so it still has its uses.

I wish price was not a factor -- and just the best unit. Which would that be? I don't care about price -- I just want the best for my problem of cleaning a car and if it is more expensive then that is likely why. So deducting points for price is a no-go in my metric.

Another great video. Is it possible you could look into upright Costco vacuums? I’ve been thinking about buying one because of Costco’s warranty, but the model numbers don’t match any videos I’ve seen on here. I’m wondering if they are just knockoff versions.

Vacuum makers have tons of different models. Many make exclusive models for certain stores and Costco is one of them. If you buy a Shark or Dyson from Costco it’s still legit but many are slightly different colors and have more accessories included.

@@kc5077 oh I see. Thank you for the great explanation. In that case I think I’m curious if certain exclusive models match up with certain shark models on here. I’m curious if they compare with power specs and what not.

@@Handyandy8888 The main 2 Sharks at Costco without direct comparable models are the DuoClean Liftaway and Performance Liftaway. They are most similar in design and power to the previous Rotator DuoClean and current Rotator DuoClean. It's a shame they hide the power rating of the motors but the DuoClean Liftaway said 9.5 amps on the comparison chart which is identical to previous Rotators. If you are looking for a powerful vacuum there are better options than Shark.
