sir I have a question, this aqua signal ignites the gas boiler but is it a continous signal or just a one time ? the reason i am asking this is , i am doing a project and i have connected a electric heater to heat water but i dont want to run both heaters at same time and want to save my gas money so i figured if i just block this aqua signal , i can stop gas boiler from igniting ! so please if you reply it will be a huge help ! thanks in advance!!

Hi, thanks for asking, All combies have 2 switches 1 for HW and 1 CH which are NO (normal open) dead, until a tap is turned ON. There are only 2 ways to start ignition 1 sensor (Ohms) the PCB see's a change and starts up, or 2 a switch is activated from NO the NC (normally closed) and the boiler starts up until the tap is turned OFF then back to NO shuts down. I don't understand why you want to connect an ELX heater as it's 3 times more expensive than Gas? You can just unplug the aqua sensor from the PCB and enjoy big bills. If you want at add HW cylinder see my video on add 2 zones to a combi or any boiler. hope the helps, George 🤩👍

great video, I have a big problem with my Vaillant water heater. When I open hot water on some tap (all tap with energy saving), the heater does not turn on. I thought that was a problem on the flow meter but after looking at your video, and acquire some good infos, I notice that maybe it's not my case. I read the manual of my water heater and the minimum hot water flow rate reported is 2.2 l/min. According to my measurement, the flow rate over water tap is 2.7 l/min. I also measured the Hz reported from the flow meter and it is 18Hz. My flow meter work with different voltage from your (you say that the votage is 4vdc but my is 17.5 also on the manual is reported 18v) and I don't know if the Hz values that are reported on your video are good also for my model. Have you any suggestion?

Hi, thanks for asking, my volts are 100% correct, I think you are mixing standing and working volts. The 2.7 flow rate is far far too low for most boiler to ignite (its a lab test) the pressure will have a big bearing. Most boilers will not respond under 5L pm because it sends the temperature too high too soon which starts to scale up. 8 would be slow but OK. Hope that helps, take care, George staszak 🤔👍

What is the kitchen tap - 57hz And upstairs is only 36hz? Blockage or need a new aqua sensor?

Thanks for asking, Sensor is OK it's the pipes and taps also the distance to the boiler. hope that helps,👍

@@mrcombiBedford thank you. I’ll do some more investigation- I am going in couple of days to change a seal and clean main heat exchanger. Customer saying boiler is acting up. When I go works perfect 🧐. Customer says she gets hot water then goes cold for few mins, she has to close the tap and open again to get hot water. Also when using hot water upstairs, if someone opens the tap downstairs, upstairs goes cold. No fault codes I’ve just subscribed to your channel! This video was invaluable

Dear Dinosaur Accounts, back to basic Fault Finding, when you arrive ask them to show how they turn on tap(s) to see the fault. Not many combies allow 2 taps because of WATER flow / pressure, that could be the issue. We always test at he KITCHEN sink because its the most used per day and gives us a sequence of testing. Measure the pressure sink and upstairs ? Put a FLOW cup to see the flow rate there and upstairs tap. That should find the fault, take care 🤔👍 @@dinosauraccounts1411

Mr combi - another update - Heating works fine. Hot water will work fine for a shower, the next shower it runs hot and cold. Seems to work ok with one tap open , open two and it goes cold, as if it can’t keep up with the volume of water. I will check the flows like you said… but I am suspecting the heat exchanger

great vid, im only getting 4.5l/min and water temps of 38oc with my ecotec pro 28 set at 65oc, any chance you could do a vid of what to do if you know you have low l/min and how to make it more l/min, do you think this would make the water temp higher? Cheers.

Don't need a video, you have a block pipe or filter. Did you test the cold at the sink 1st.at least 12 ltrs. really should be 14+ LPM then the hot sink flow a bit less. Please let me know, george

Thanks for these videos George that was very informative. I have a Vaillant ecoTEC connected only to one tap at the moment which doesn't have a great flow rate and the boiler is cycling up and down about every couple of minutes the display though does not show a wide-ranging temperature difference in the boiler primary water I am puzzled as I thought if there was a blockage anywhere near the plate heat exchanger the temperature of the primary water with wildly swing
