I took my IxDao on holiday and swam in the sea and pool for two weeks every day. Within a few weeks the bezel had seized up. When I removed the bezel the click spring had rusted and there was a large amount of matter underneath which was causing it to stick. Impressed you didn't get this issue.

Interesting....I try and wash all my watches after the water to get any salt or gunk out of the bezel mechanism and it hasn't failed me yet! Still One of the better bezels in my collection

Well. Like I always say, I’m glad these watches exist. I personally wouldn’t get it. Especially since a Pagani is not much more money, but there are a lot of people out there for whom a $75 purchase for something they don’t necessarily “need” is a lot of money. Lol, that was funny. It's a nice looking watch. My father bought the 7750 clone version, and it broke. That's why I bought the Pagani version, albeit it's not exactly the same original styling but similar enough, also a bit bigger.

Same. I had one for less than 3 months and the movement broke. Never buying one with a clone 7750 ever again, they're a timebomb.

I had the exactly same problem...though my stopwatch hand wasn't centered properly to zero. After some time same thing happened and at the end, the hand broke off and I had to place other one which I also bought on the Aliexpress and it works...so far so good. Will see how long it will last. Alternative for this is Pagani Design Paul Newman version. Sadly no one beside Alpha for some reasonable price have really adequate Paul Newman homage watch with such dial, but with the silver case.

Tiger concept has one as well. I just wonder why nobody uses normal pushers on these. The PN Daytona never had screw down pushers 🤷

2 months ago I was on a search for a quartz chrono with 38mm porportions and if this one were 13mm thick I'd go for it. Ended up with a sterile Addiesdive furlan marii knock off for about the same price as this one on Alixpress. Do all seiko VK movements suffer from such misalignment of the chrono hand upon reset??

Gotta be the same case as on the mechanical version ... I don't see any other reason why this would have to be that thick with a quartz. It... kinda looks like a lower quality, shrunken version of the Steinhart Paul Newman I used to own - and that watch taught me a valuable lesson WRT dimensions: One of the main reasons why the Daytona works so well and looks so good is the fact that it's always been a very slim watch - especially for a chronograph. As great as my homage looked in pics and at most angles in real life - you just can't get around the fact that it is 19mm thick (~16 - 17mm if you disregard the top-hat crystal). This one is a tad thinner, but since it's also at least two sizes smaller in diameter, it's still way too thick - it's all about proportions, not just about "raw" dimensions. IIRC, the current Daytona has a 40mm case that's just under 12mm thick. My advice would be to look for a well-made homage that isn't any thicker than 13mm - which seems achievable, seeing how the Sugess auto-chrono is under 13mm thick. If you're going quartz, 13mm or thinner should be even less of a problem.

The V3 sugess was awesome for thickness. I took this caseback off to see where the movement was sitting and it's about fluch with the bottom of the midcase, so yeah, a nearly flat caseback would have dropped this to about 12.5mm or so.

@@EscapeWheelNot sure if the info on Sugess' web-site is all that accurate, but they *claim* 12.5mm thickness for the current (V4?) version. IIRC, they also claimed that for the V3, but I think you (or maybe another watch-YTer) measured that version a tad over 13mm. Still: I think both versions are slimmer than all the mechanical homages out there that I'm aware of.

That's absolutely crazy ! I checked the seconds hand on another VK63 watch and it's quite a beefy one, not like this. It's a nice watch though at a good price. Is there a chance that you were unlucky and maybe the seconds hand was damaged as it was being installed ? Excellent review !

I wish San Martin or Baltany would do a good quality true to size vintage Paul Newman daytona homage, there is a severe lack of decent PN homages imo

This must be that special vid for me....and my well known "love" for analog chronos, right? Especially when you say "...don't reset it unless you're close to 12o'clock", a million silly and funny scenes popped in my mind (nope, i won't say any, you can think a lot also, and laugh by yourself! hear me??!!! 😋😂) An absolut "buy" for me, if i ever want a tiny wall clock! 😜

Thus, i'll get two thing that i'm not a big fan of, the integrated bracelet and chrono all at once. Just buy the Daytona of alpha1993 with a st1903. 200€ a peach with the steel bezel on a rally brown leather strap

it's a much larger watch, though. its close to 40mm which just won't work for some people. I have it, and it's a nicer watch, but honestly, not by much (movement aside)

I've seen this go for 169.00-199.99 and higher even with the mecha quartz so for 100.00 and under I think it's great.

yeah I don't know what they are thinking...multiple sellers sell this at $75 and under which I think is a fair price. if you are paying that much it should have the automatic Chronograph 7750 movement in it.

I took the back off, the VK movement is flush with the back of the mid-case. they could have shaved off at LEAST a couple mm's for next to no cost to them. lazy "design work"
