If Valentina wanted revenge, she shud have taken it, nunes didn't look like she came to fight. Valentina shud have been more aggressive and not hoping for a judge to give her the win.

Right this fight could of gone either way I would of been satisfied with either outcome but to become the champion in a fight like this you need to do it convingly

And let's not forget how many times Amanda was warned for fingers pointed forward, she should of lost 2 points. She was warn 2 times in the first, 2 times in the 2nd, verbally warn at end of 3rd, warned during the 4th round, and she kept doing it over and over during the fight.

The only way you can assure a win is to finish the fight. She should have finished Nunes if she wanted to insure a victory. I say this as someone that was leaning more towards hoping she won, though I like Nunes as well. Shevchenko landed more significant punches, but it was always close. She is wrong though, it is a sport of points now, not just damage.

I believe the UFC should schedule the Rematch right away. Valentina won more round's, but Nunez was pretty good in manipulating the fight making it look like she was more active, but really did nothing except the takedown in the last round, but only held position.

Shevchenko won the fight, 3 - 2. She out-struck Nunes, go look at the numbers, even when she was taken down in the 5 th, she pounded Nunes from the bottom with elbows and punches and landed way more in the 5th...dreadful decision, again...bloody judges make me sick!!!

There's no point in judges anymore. Infrared sensors can easily measure output so we know who made the most damage in real time. Heck even AI can act as a judge if you like your scoring system. The problem with judges is there is no quality control (it's just a group of friends that let each other join), it's easily corruptible, and they still don't know what they're looking at and yet somehow this is the highest level of competition so nothing but the best, right?

Actually, I thought Valentina won every second of every round. She wasn't stiff at all. She threw these gorgeous, multiple punch/kick/flying scissor combinations while fluidly evading Amanda's punches (did Nunes even land one solid shot? I don't think so!) while Amanda basically ran the last 4 or 4 and a half rounds of the fight. Nunes was so exhausted in the final round I thought the ref would step in. That final round should have been 10-7 for Shevchenko. The bias of the judges is disgusting. What fight were they watching?

People are saying she won😒 please point me to the point in the fight where anything significant was landing. This fight was a bunch of low kicks, backing up and a lot of missing. With the exception of the forth round which she did win. Nothing but low kicks and a couple takedowns did any scoring. You cant take the belt like that.

It was close but I thought Valentina took 2-3-4 .maybe not.... Amanda won coz of the leg kicks Imo, she used them to keep the distance. It could of went either way.... Very technical

I actually had Valentina winning the match. The moment she got taken down in the 5th i thought it was gonna be Amanda's but she wasn't doing anything at all. Valentina was attacking Amanda instead while on her back which was kinda embarrassing for the champ. Overall it was a crappy match match similar to Woodley vs Thompson 1, Both scared to make a mistake and losing the match.

We need to trash the current score system and completely sever ties with the Nevada athletic commission ,,,,,create a new (MMA) governing body that creates a completely revamped score system, a completely new set of MMA specific rules and regulations. I hope this would include removing the current judges x 3 system and replace with a new group of judges maybe consisting of retired referees and current referees with extensive training in the newly drafted MMA specific rules and regs.

Nunes have the reach advantage so Valentina litterly have to jump in to start which she did like 20 times and did what ever she wanted and went back, nunes was passive and just waited for 25min until the takedowns attemps which she landed 1 of 3? and she did nothing but holding out the time and shes a blackbelt..

To be fair, if we have to judge by the marks on fighters' face, Nunes won clearly; Shevchenko is bruised in the right part of her face, while Nunes is as fresh as she could be.

I can't understand some of u so called mma fans the fight was not boring it was fill with technique 2 high level fighters respect to both,u all rather see 2 fighter throw wild looping punches bell to bell where is the art in that.

I think it was very close fight, Valentina has to blame herself for being so passive all the fight. She stays back to the octagon and demanding all the other fighters to attack her, some will attack like Holly Holm but some don't have to, like Amanda Nunes because she already got belt and she's not contender. If you're contender that is your job to show everybody that you're better, don't wait 5 rounds for a Champ to make her move. Period.

she won round 2 and 4 was 2-2 going into last, amanda won 1 3 and 5 with take down. i personally dont get the over value of the whole takedown thing as she is right in that she was doing more damage from bottom but the ufc is american and they are heavily bias towards wresteling. its one of the biggest prob in mma, but according to the ufc rules if you are the one on top on the ground you are winning so valentina must know this so why complain.

I stayed up all night to watch this fight. I was expecting much more from both girls. I don't know what happen here.

Nunes literally laid and prayed. No wonder Cormier favored her at the end. He dry humps people to victory. I've said it for a decade or more, that when you take someone down, and just lay there, it shouldn't be some major point influence on a decision. It seems that in UFC though, you can just hang out for 5 rounds, and then take someone down in the last 10 seconds of the 5th round, and you get a 10/8 round for it.

Poor Valentina. So tough but she didn't do enough. Amanda fought Valentina's style so the next fight will be no different.
