Troubleshooting basic things, like a deEsser would be lovely! Idk why but I cannot seem to make my DeEsser work properly, and I swear I have been following videos on setting it up to a T. But yeah, Troubleshooting isn't something I've seen you do.

OMG I finally understand why I sound so cool rapping when I am super close to the mic! People always tell me my rap voice and singing voice sound like a different person- not that I put on a voice, necessarily. I think people are hearing a more deep, grainy voice that I don't really sound like, normally.

Logic's low latency mode is actually so neat. It instantly disables all the plugins that contribute to latency. It's almost all I rely on to avoid latency when recording.

Don't know if this is useful to you, but I figured out that if you have the loop set to on for a section of the song and you record within it, Logic will record each take in the same way you were showing, with the drop down.

I've learned so much watching your videos. Especially the reggaeton videos! I struggle with the bass part of reggaeton. Maybe be you could do another reggaeton beat with some emphasis on what bass you choose (stock or 3rd party plug in) and what your settings are to get a reggaeton bass. Awesome video! 100k subs by July, calling it first!

I'm a quiet singer and I barely hit -18db and only after adding compression and gain(+10 db).If I turn my gain knob on interface louder, it will pic up background noise(plates dropping, people talking, etc)

Question. What if the verse is sung quietly so it requires high input but the refrain is sung loudly which would cause clipping unless the input was turned down.. if that makes sense. In that case is it okay to adjust the input ?
@bigacreations
@bigacreations 3 жыл бұрын
Yes, adjust your input levels based off how loud the source is (your artist), but never just for the sake of hearing your voice louder.

Constructive critisism: Great video, a lot to learn from it. I like that you had planned a structure for the video in 5 steps, but it feels more like 4. or 3 and a half ish. Micplacement, levels, latency, spot on. but organizing clips and comping got kind of puddled together and wasn't really presented or seperate from eachother. If i were to put a timeline on the video, i wouldn't know exactly where to pinpoint the changes between those two. Lists/plans for videos are great, so it's important to stick to them. Lots of love!

I know it’s a topic that’s covered a lot, but setting up the fundamentals so that my future videos on actual mixing and processing the vocals are more useful. It’s easier to process a vocal that is recorded correctly than one that was not. A lot of mixing problems can be fixed with making changes to the way you record. :) thanks for watching!
