Fun fact Athena always won Ares when they fought . Athena apart from the god of wisdom is also the god of war but not many now . Greek mythology gas two war god's but they are completely different. Tactic , appearance , way of thinking , things they like. Ares is always shown without any weapons at all or weapons at his legs or somewhere near him but never equipped with one . This shows that Ares is about pride and carrying about having a fair fight and the best fighter should win . That's why Spartans were never afraid to die . They prepared their whole lives for each combat and asked the help of Ares in each one as they knew they had the chances with their side so it wouldn't work for them as a disadvantage. Even during Persian raid they didn't go through the path of the Persians to attack from the back but faced them directly. Athena is shown wearing a helmet and holding a shield and a weapon . She is also the god of wisdom as I said before. She doesn't care how a battle is fought but for the outcome of it . That's why Alexander the Great and Athenians liked her. Alexander the Great cut the famous unsolved bond and Athenians would often attack while the enemy didn't expect it.

@@infinityslibrarian5969 not exactly what they resemble. Athena for example in a bare handed fight if given the choice would bring a knife . Ares would go and would fight bare handed . Athena cares about winning . Ares about fair fighting. Keeping captives in a war is allowed, killing them not . Back in times the supporters of Athena (Athenians) would keep many captives which would later become slaves . Same though and with supporters of Ares (Spartans) . However Athenians won more wars than Spartans because they cared about the outcome not the way the fight will be given. If they could find a traitor they would use him , Spartans wouldn't.

@@MB-dy5qp winning is easy, proving that you deserve to win is a bit more complicated. I think it can only be done if you play fair and compete in good faith. But I think there's a difference between fighting and trying to kill someone. You/I/we fight (or compete) for fun or to prove a point. Competitions are a dick measuring contest for status and a higher position in whatever hierarchy we find ourselves in. And for those hierarchies to function correctly we need to prove that we deserve whatever high spot we have in them. Like getting the highest marks in school without cheating, winning casses as a lawyer to prove that you are a good lawyer or saving plenty of lives to prove that your a good doctor or running your household smoothly and peacefully to prove that your partner chose right. The point of fighting fairly is not to win. I don't know exactly what it is, but it definitely isn't winning, and you only fight or compete in good faith with people you respect and who play according to those same undefined rules. But when you fight to kill or to destroy something all those rules go out the window. The only thing that matters is the death of that someone or the destruction of whatever you are opposed to. But then you run the risk of being wrong in your decision to kill that person or destroy that thing. I prefer Aries, fighting/competing fairly is fun and doesn't requer much moral wisdom (Possibly why Athena fights to win. Maybe she has the wisdom to not fight/kill people she doesn't need to). It forces you to grow and develop as a person, and it intimately reacquaints you with all your shortcoming (aka forcefeeds you humble pie). It's good for the soul.
